@TheAttleeStan nah, tho it looks cool on the outside its chamber has all the monumentality of the council chambers of a medium large city, not the parliament of an entire nation. like it or not nobody’s mistaking the scottish parliament building for some small powerless assembly

I know there was probably some deeper issues to why we never had the Scottish parliament in the Old Royal High School but it always does piss me off that we never used to and instead built the monstrosity that is the Scottish parliament

Feels like Labour and the Lib Dems in Scotland have made a huge error over the past decade in focusing so heavily on unionism. There just aren't many staunchly unionist left-wing voters left

@johnkroencke it would have been a perfectly respectable statement had he just talked about employing people and paying tax, but talking about houses or boats or whatever just comes across to most people as a boast. although it's very true that scottish politics is anti-growth atm
