@tommy_prusa3d @josefprusa @Mojee3d @Prusa3D Thanks for reaching out, The photos are a bit old because I ended up selling it after 11 months. I struggled to even get it printing a single color reliably, much less all the multi color fun i wanted to do with it. It was nearly 3 weeks of back and forth emails with support

@blindsay04 @josefprusa @Mojee3d @Prusa3D Hey Bill, sorry to hear about the trouble here and everything you had to go through. I'm glad to say that the latest firmware should have the issue resolved, but in case you are still running into any troubles, feel free to hop on over to my DM's and we can take a look

I have receieved a LOT of DM's about this. Some in agreement, some in disagreement, and then everything in between. My point for the OG post and the poll is this...what IF? Right? What IF, you lived in Wyoming, Florida, or some place in Europe and you could purchase a @Prusa3D Core One+ fully assembled, with a built in camera and filtration, for $899 + a moderate shipping fee? Would an amazing printer like this, with those features, at that price, cause you to pick this over a @BambulabGlobal P2S or X2D? The current trending dicussion in 3DP is how BAD Bambu is, and rightfully so, they make thier own bed. But, the alternatives are more of the same, or a more open source friendly alternative that is significanly more expensive. But, what IF, that open source friendly, ethical company, Prusa, was at a price that most people found obtainable? #Hope

Why don't you own a @Prusa3D 3D Printer? Maybe I'm wrong about my statement regarding an $899 Prusa being something people would want.

@AzzyDesignWorks The Indx on a Core One L sounds promising but after going through that with the XL I dont really want to again. Meanwhile my H2C racked up 500hrs of multi color prints in its first month and my U1 is off to a great start as well.

@blindsay04 The XL's seems to be a crapshoot. I never liked machines with more than 2 extruder units, too many parts to have work all in concert 100% every time. I know a few people who have theirs running production, and a few that have had constant problems.

I know a lot of people are price fixed, but if you have a small biz and do 3d printing, the extra cost is worth the lack of downtime. My Prusa machines are paying for themselves now, and usually making the parts to fix my other machines. And who knew my small post could help stir up a flood of help to get these machines more USA made! Looking forward to see what happens next with @Prusa3D and US made Core Ones!

While I would rather run a full USA made printer, I've got family history in Czechia, so thats a bonus. The recent PrUSA push with @PrintedSolid helps.

@josefprusa @Mojee3d @Prusa3D It was just issue after issue, and email support was slow to respond. I paid extra for the 'assembled' version and still had to assemble more than most other modern corexy machines. Not to mention many quality of life features the printer lacks.

@josefprusa @Mojee3d @Prusa3D Honestly my problem wasn't the price, it was the price + the experience wasn't very good. If something is going to command that price premium it needs the experience to match. I spent nearly $4600 with import fees on my XL and had nothing but problems with it

@drewrog I just meant that if i was worried about value, i would be buying neither. Neither are good value.

From a pure cost standpoint? Certainly. But I think even the lowest priced non-LDO Voron kits will set you back $600/$700 bucks? It’s not an apples to apples comparison though. I’m just saying that considering your question, value/support would be a reason to buy a Prusa kit over a Voron kit.

To be honest, it's not the same experience. You order a voron kit, you don't get printed tailored instructions. Much of building vorons was seat of pants around the time I purchased my first Prusas. And Vorons come with zero warranty. I don't get to query a company for support and experience the awesomeness that is Prusa support.

@drewrog If cost is a concern, there are far better value options than either.

@Mojee3d @Prusa3D If something is going to be the most expensive, for me to even consider it, it needs to also be the best. Spent $4600 on a 5TH Prusa XL and it was far worse than my Bambu's at half the cost. Had the XL been amazing, i could have justified the cost.

@davidthepurple @ZombieHedgehog_ Why not just build a Voron at that point? The Average consumer just wants a printer that is turnkey and works which is why Bambu has been so successful (and at an affordable price).

Experience. Prusa e.g. Value isn't perceived until you have the experience of a. building one with their awesome instructions b. when it fails, learning from the community and experiencing their technical support and c. when it finally works as intended, having gained experience and made a few friends. Prusa is an experience. A learning experience, a networking experience, and a life-changing experience. Bambu Lab took that experience and stripped away the best parts and tried to replace it with turnkey features that defeated the point of my own dive into 3D Printing. I didn't just want to print stuff. I wanted to learn something, to experience what it was like to build something that builds something, and I wanted to have real conversations with people in the industry when it came to solving my printer's issues. BL did not deliver. Prusa did. The experience I got pays for itself. The price offset in printers doesn't include this.

@ZombieHedgehog_ It is a mix for me. It needs to be reliable, good value, low/no multi color waste and ideally 300mm+

@cyanidesugar_ My U1 just arrived actually. I had previously bought a 5TH Prusa XL. With import fees etc it was like $4600. My U1 was so much quicker and easier to setup and get working. My H2C has been infinitely more reliable than the XL was.

@ZombieHedgehog_ @snapmaker Great so far. I like the setup manual they include, it was well written. Id say its the second easiest printer I've setup overall and the test print came out great.

@nickwakenc @geerlingguy Well if you want a printer that can do multi color/material without waste Qidi is out. And their filaments are not proprietary lol. And that waste adds up to a lot of money pretty quick

Way off topic. Probably not. If you want to support their closed ecosystem (including proprietary filaments), it's your money, but it has nothing to do with Qidi being good at what they do. You coming here to bash them over a penny wasted as "just wanting to know" is disingenuous; you could have checked websites/reviews. You're trying to fault a sports car for not having a high payload rating.

Bambu Lab 3D printers: never again. They're breaking the open source social contract (for the nth time...), and I'm past hoping they'll amend their ways. youtube.com/watch?v=eb48Md…

@blindsay04 @geerlingguy On par with Bambu AMS. Using PLA, 1-5 cents per change. If you are trying to print complex multi-color parts with a single filament head and a box/switcher, you are using the wrong tool for the job.
