The Gulf states are coordinating with one another and mutually supporting each other. This spirit is no surprise, especially at times of crises. But this unity needs to deepen and sustain itself beyond the conflict. Unity is key if we are to take ownership of our region and work on avoiding forever wars.

We’re entering an uncharted territory based on the developments of the last 24 hours. US reassurances of no more attacks on oil and gas infrastructure should be taken with a grain of salt. The Gulf states are ramping up their diplomacy and communication with yesterday’s consultative meeting in Riyadh and the unprecedentedly clear rebuke of US foreign policy by the Omani FM in the Economist. Part of my @aljazeeraenglish interview earlier today.

An Israeli-US attack on Iran is a Netanyahu dream come true. Rarely do wars create conditions for stability. It takes the harder work of diplomacy to get there. #usa #iran #war

A nuclear-free Middle East should be an ultimate objective. Eyes are rightly on Iran, but they should also be on Israel, the only nuclear power in the region. Weapons of mass destruction are destabilizing, to say the least. An arms race and wars on repeat mode are no answer.

“The Gulf states want normalcy: peace and calm to refocus on their national transformation plans,” said Bader Al-Saif. “That requires a major reset to their security arrangements with Western partners and it also requires dialogue with Iran.” bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

The Gulf states have worked hard on their brand. The war has taken its toll on the Gulf’s image, but there is no doubt the Gulf will recover. Part of my @bbc interview.

We need to plan for the ‘day after’ from now & work on Gulf-Iran ties irrespective of what happens between Iran, the US, & Israel. Many spoilers benefit from regional fragmentation and chaos. That’s why Iran going all out on the Gulf serves no one’s interests, including Iran.

“Confusion is an understatement. We haven't seen that level of vagueness, contradictions, and it speaks to an administration that's not aware of the type of campaign that they've entered into," Bader Al-Saif told Newsweek. "It's quite something for me, because it comes from people who ferociously attacked U.S. involvement in Iraq 20 years ago, and they're getting themselves into something that can arguably be worse, because this is not contained within one space,"newsweek.com/how-long-will-…

We’ve been sustaining a multi-modal war in the Gulf. Iran has “awarded” the UAE 1st & Kuwait 2nd place in the amount of attacks we received - even more than Israel. Iran keeps stressing neighborly relations but that’s not being translated on the ground. More with @BeckyCNN
