I always tell people that if the Gold Plates suddenly appeared, it would be a net neutral for the Church, at best. You’d have too many big personalities trying to get their fingers in the translation, questions about why the Plates had not been revealed earlier, potential friction about accurate translations, the list goes on.
Evidence doesn’t create or sustain a testimony. That’s the Spirits job.

Dunking on Tucker Carlson having "only" about 7k paid subscribers feels off to me. Using the average amount I get from my much smaller subscriber base, that's about $41k per month. Plus he has sponsors and merch. And nobody ever had to pay for Tucker content before then, so he essentially created a subscriber base out of nothing.
Meanwhile, I'm out here fighting for every subscriber I can get, pushing back at the hate and conspiracy theories Tucker makes millions from.

I went through some of the legal filings today and the people Klein is after look seriously fucked. A judge literally said in a published court order two days ago she believed there was prima facie evidence Denims engaged in copyright infringement and the judge struck down a motion to quash regarding Ethan’s subpoena to learn the identities of the H3 Snark moderators he alleges were involved in conspiring to infringe upon his copyrighted material
The judge who said at a glance it appears Ethan has a legitimate case for copyright infringement is not the same judge who will make the final determination in that case, but Ethan can now quote her decision in future filings and say “see? A judge agrees this is a legitimate case and I have provided minimally sufficient evidence for all my allegations.”
That’s seriously going to hurt Denim’s attempts to dismiss counts in Ethan’s complaint and she’s the streamer who violated his copyright and has the deepest pockets. Anyone telling you Ethan Klein isn’t currently winning this lawsuit is delusional. Every decision has been in his favor and he’s already forced one of his targets to settle

People don’t seem to understand what Ethan Klein is doing with his lawsuit He has Hasan Piker’s orbiters absolutely dead to rights on copyright infringement so he’s using the lawsuit to get discovery that he thinks will prove Reddit had employees colluding with an anti-Ethan Klein subreddit to ignore his legitimate DMCA requests and guide people to streamers who were stealing his content He might be right and if he is, his actual goal is to expand the lawsuit and straight up sue Reddit for its employees maliciously conspiring to infringe his copyrighted work. This is probably going wind up being a way more important lawsuit than people think

Note: I’m not an attorney but I worked as a civil litigation paralegal for 8 years right out of college and this case is insanely simple, as are the factors relevant to a fair use case. Denims and Frogan straight up fail three of the four relevant factors in a fair use defense and the 1st factor is debatable gray area.
“Nature of the copyrighted work” means whether it’s creative (a novel) or factual (a scientific paper). Creative works are less likely to be fair use and Klein’s video was a creative work
“Amount taken” is exactly what it sounds like. Frogan and Denims both watched 100% of the video, so they’re as liable as possible under that factor
“Effect upon the market” is whether it created a market substitute. Both Denims and Frogan said their goal was to create a market substitute to deny Ethan Klein ad revenue and they had commenters thanking them for streaming the video so they didn’t have to watch it on Ethan’s channel. That’s open and shut. They lose factor 4.
The only debatable issue is factor one, which is about how transformative the work is. They probably lose that factor too, but even if it’s debatably transformative, it’s unlikely they’ll win when they are blatantly at odds with the other three factors

They are NOT. They are not even founded in the slightest reality, but you have no way to know that because you are the ultimate know nothing. Sniping from the sidelines of a life and death game in which you will never participate.

I know Scott Jennings tantrum got all the attention yesterday, but I want to talk a little bit about what I said that got him so mad. The bottom line is: Trump’s war with Iran has failed. This has made it mentally strenuous for MAGA operators to defend it on TV. For 8 weeks now, Scott has pointed to the U.S. destroying the 50 year old Navy and Air Force of Iran to try and prove we have won. This is dishonest for many reasons. The point of war is not to kill your enemies and blow up their navy. That’s an infantile view of war that MAGA is pushing to trick Americans. The point of war is to use force to extract political concessions from your enemy that benefit you on the world stage. Trump has been unable to translate his military success into a SINGLE political concession from Iran. Not one. This is a failed war. The Strait is closed. Iran won’t even negotiate. The enriched uranium is still in Iran with their blueprints stored in the Cloud. So enter Scott Jennings. He has claimed weekly that victory is right around the corner with this war… but we have blown past the 4-6 week deadline set by this administration and have failed to get a single concession. So I asked the simple question: “Can you name a single political concession we have gotten from Iran?” He couldn’t answer. Never forget the weakness he showed when he had no answer for Trump’s mistakes.

I think the Comey prosecution is pure nonsense on the merits and a clear abuse of power in intent. But I'm just wondering if it's dawned on anyone that Tucker floating the idea that Trump is the Antichrist probably puts Trump in more danger than Comey saying "hey look at these shells."You have an absolute right to call Trump the Antichrist, of course. But I keep hearing defenders of the Comey prosecution try to spin up scenarios where 8647 in cockleshells will activate deranged assassins -- and that was Comey's intent. That's absurd.
Again, this is not my circus, not my clowns, but suggesting Trump is the Antichrist strikes me as far more triggering. Would love to hear JD Vance asked about this.
