It's weird how little data you can get out of the JSON-RPC without debug_trace* or trace_* methods and how (seemingly) little work is done to optimize their performance Basically everyone is force to debug/trace every block or transaction to get useful data about what happened.

Developers, make your SRE team happy with this simple trick; to services that you're writing, add one early log entry that shows the service config. It helps a lot with debugging. Even seeing the line helps figure out if the service has started or not.

@zimbatm I like the philosophy behind twist.io We used it for a while a couple of years back but for various reasons got pulled into other services. I would love to go back to using it.
