Another day at the country’s worst airport. If you have the option to fly to Eagle, Hayden, Aspen, Gunnison or Montrose for skiing, do that. I’ve even flown to Colorado Springs and Grand Junction to avoid the hellscape that is DEN.

@BoulderCAST Q—Utah’s cottonwood canyons are famous for being catchers mitts that catch northwest flow for upslope/orographic lift and snow. But here on the front range if we need an E wind for upslope, %-wise how often does that happen with our storms? What is an ideal setup for upslope?Thx

We continue to see strong support for an impressive snowfall gradient along the base of the Foothills tonight. This HRRR forecast is just one example. 5" in Boulder by sunrise Friday, 0.5" in Denver, but up to 12" in the Foothills near ~7000 feet elevation. UPSLOPE FTW! #COwx

Solid wind event today. Not much in the way of rain at the coast but 1 1/2’ of snow at Big Bear. Solana Beach recorded a wind gust of 59 mph and Torrey Pines buoy is 14’. Showers/wind rest of the day and a wetter storm late Thurs/Friday.
