📢 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝟯-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 The @nidmmhaindia successfully concluded a three-day 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 (September 8–10, 2025) under the visionary leadership and unwavering support of Shri Safi Ahsan Rizvi, ED, NIDM. The workshop was attended by 140+ delegates from 25 States/UTs, central ministries, and academic institutions. 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀: Dr. Amir Ali Khan, Head, RID, NIDM; Dr. Pankaj Kumar, Assistant Professor, NIDM and Dr. Garima Aggarwal, Senior Consultant, NIDM Inaugural Session was presided by Dr. Shailesh Kumar, ED, BMTPC, along with Prof. R. Pradeep Kumar, CBRI, Prof. Mahesh G.Thakkar, BSIOP, Col. Manoram Yadav SM, JD, NIDM, Shri Randeep Kumar Rana, Senior Advisor, NIDM. ✨ 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽: 🔸 Dr. Shailesh Kumar Agrawal set the goal of ‘Zero loss of life’ through earthquake-resistant design. 🔸 Prof. Ramancharla Pradeep Kumar called for stricter building codes & retrofitting vulnerable infrastructure. 🔸 Prof. Mahesh G. Thakkar: Science, society, and policymakers must link to build a culture of resilience. 🔸 Prof. (Dr.) Virendra Kumar Paul focused on risk-sensitive urban planning & sustainable construction. 🔸 Dr. Babita Sharma highlighted the role of seismic microzonation and AI-driven studies in high-density urban areas. 🔸 Prof. Ambrish Kumar Mahajan warned of a seismic gap in the Himalayas signaling future risk. 🔸 Dr. Amir Ali Khan emphasized proactive, positive and multi-hazard approach for a sustainable and resilient nation. 🔸 Shri R. C. Sharma, Former DG, Delhi Fire Services raised concerns about informal vulnerable settlements. 🔸 Mr. Nitin S. Verma, ACI shared his insights on reconstruction and retrofitting techniques. Interactive sessions viz. State/UT presentations and regional dialogues to devise strategies were held under the guidance of Dr. Shailesh Agrawal, Prof. Devesh Walia, NEHU, Dr. Hari Kumar, GHI along with the team of moderators/coordinators from NDMA and NIDM. In the end, region-specific action plans (North-Eastern, Western Himalayan and Rest of India) on earthquake resilience were presented. The workshop was successfully concluded in the esteemed presence of Col.
