@ScottGustin Sure would be cool if the people on Bluesky could see this instead of just the Nazi site.

@boardgamequotes Welcome back! RPM at Forum Shops for Italian, or Superfrico at Cosmo. Pizza Rock downtown. Not sure what you like or where you'll be. Off-Strip it's Sgrizzi or Al Solito Posto.

@EricVespe Did you stop posting on bluesky? I figured you wouldn’t go back to this Nazi and p0rn app.

@NotreDame @Ginger_Zee Curious if you are also on Bluesky? Or if you’re going to stick with Twitter, home to nazis and nonconsensual p0rn?

@ModeledBehavior @chrislhayes “Bluesky seems like an echo chamber”—yeah of people who aren’t ok to hang out with nazis and non consensual p0rn, both of which are all over Twitter. I guess you’re ok with those though?

Four things I’d say to that. One, yes sometimes. Two, not always, I love my instagram algorithm. It is literally a useful service for me. Three, there’s no algos in online forums that become hotbeds or radicalism like 4chan. Four, bluesky seems like a massive ideological echo chamber despite the lack of billionaires and algo choice.

I understand why a politician has to frame it like this, but scapegoating billionaires for a problem that is in many ways bottom-up cultural issue is actually itself part of the rage economy.
Team Talarico@TeamTalaricoHQ

.@ezraklein: “What is, to you, the ‘rage economy’?” @JamesTalarico: “The billionaires own the algorithms and the news networks. They have created for-profit platforms that divide us on an hourly basis — by party, by race, by gender, by religion. They elevate the most extreme voices very strategically to provoke our outrage, because that leads to more clicks, which leads to more money for them. They are selling us conflict right into our bloodstream, and they’re calling it connection. And I think it’s left people starving for actual community.”

There was imminence, when he fired the first shot as she was attempting to run him down. But, once imminence has been satisfied, he can now focus on eliminating the threat. She doesn't need to continue imminence. She was in a vehicle and he was on foot, eliminating the threat required additional shots.

From a legal use-of-force perspective, the video makes this hard to justify. Deadly force turns on imminence. Under Graham v. Connor and Tennessee v. Garner, officers CAN'T use lethal force just because someone is fleeing or being defiant. There MUST be a specific, immediate threat of death or serious bodily harm. Vehicles can be deadly force... but ONLY when they’re actually being used that way. In the video, the SUV appears to move slowly. No pedestrians are visible in the vehicle’s path. If an officer was not about to be struck (or reasonably avoid being struck) at the instant shots were fired the claim of imminent lethal danger weakens quickly. “Fleeing” isn’t enough. “Felony” isn’t enough. Even “reckless” isn’t enough without imminence. Shooting to stop movement, rather than to stop an unavoidable lethal threat, is exactly what Garner forbids. The government labeling the car “weaponized” is a conclusion, not a fact. The Fourth Amendment question is simple: was deadly force necessary at that moment?

A witness shared this video with me showing an ICE officer shooting a driver in an SUV in south Minneapolis. DHS says the woman is dead.

I asked Leslie Iwerks about her favorite scene in 'Disneyland Handcrafted,' and she pointed to a moment showing workers pulling the Mark Twain that captures both the difficulty of building Disneyland and Walt's determination to make it happen. "My favorite scene is the guys pulling the Mark Twain. Who knows exactly what the issue was, but they were all trying to pull it, and it's a little symbolic scene of just how hard it was and how hard they worked and their teamwork. Also the fact that they were up against all odds. Everyone doubted this could happen, but they were all saying it was an exciting time because Walt willed it to happen. He told everybody it could happen and that they had never done this before, but they could do it. And so it all gave them confidence that they could pull it off, and they all mobilized under Walt's singular vision to get it done. And I think that scene to me is emotional to me because I just feel like it symbolizes the teamwork."

Yeah, ‘ZOOTOPIA 2’ absolutely delivers. Real stakes, sharp humor, fun gags, and rich world-building all land while the buddy cop charm and heartfelt core stay front and center. Wonderful.
