@TheRockOracle1 @historyrock_ Yep. Bob showed me his original handwritten lyrics from the studio sessions. He wrote A LOT of the lyrics.

A couple of things, Bob Daisley wrote the lyrics.
And it's not off an Ozzy solo album, it's actually the band's eponymous debut album
The band was actually called the Blizzard of Ozz, the Osbournes have spun the lie for 45 years about it being a solo album. It's in books about how it was a band.

"Mr. Crowley" is one of the most iconic songs from Ozzy Osbourne's first solo album, Blizzard of Ozz, released in 1980.
The song is inspired by Aleister Crowley, a 20th-century British occultist, magician, and writer known as one of the most controversial figures of his time. Ozzy was always fascinated by Crowley and his world of the occult.
The lyrics are a sort of ironic and mysterious reflection on Crowley’s life, directly asking him what was going through his mind, whether he spoke with the dead, and what his true power was. It is neither a defense nor a condemnation, but rather a curious observation of his legacy.
The music was composed primarily by Randy Rhoads, the brilliant guitarist. It begins with a dark, atmospheric piano before exploding into a heavy riff and a spectacular guitar solo that has become one of the most memorable in rock.
The song generated a lot of controversy at the time because it reinforced the accusations of Satanism against Ozzy, although he always clarified that he was only interested in the mystery and history of Crowley, without practicing any kind of black magic.

@kteltowers It’s intriguing what happens when one withdraws to a peaceful, slow village. Some of these essays came from my failed 2008 autobiography, some came later, some came into being now. I’ve been trying to organize thousands of my old photos, and some of those spur an essay….

“I have been quoting Bull Durham in dharma contexts for years…The movie is a dharma text that just happens to be set in minor league baseball in 1988 North Carolina instead of a Tibetan monastery.
