President Trump is taking a HUGE risk in putting so much political capital in destroying Rep Massie. If Massie wins, everyone will see he thwarted all the machinations and money 💴 of the most powerful man in the world - making Massie *far* more influential and concurrently diminishing the power and influence of the president himself.
The ppl of Kentucky are more likely to return him to office bc he has proven himself to b the actual America-first politician that has the courage to do the right thing to serve the interests of *the people* of his district rather than interests of powerful ppl in Washington.

As @RepThomasMassie’s Legislative Director, I’m often never more than 10 ft away from him when he’s conducting official business in Congress.
I’m with him in hearings, markups, meetings, walking the halls etc.
Very often, Republicans will approach him in a whisper and say something along the lines of -
“I’m routing for you”
“what they’re doing to you is disgusting”
“I support you on this privately, but you know why I can’t back it publicly”
Or the worst one: “sorry I posted those hits against you. I had to for the endorsement. You understand, right?”
Well these guys: @RepBoebert @RepSpartz and @Rep_Davidson didn’t whisper.
They stand for what they believe in.
Whether you agree with them or not - they are honest and are willing to do the hard thing when they know this risk is high.
THIS is who you want as your elected officials.

I unfortunately have to admit something.
I voted for a high school kid to run this country in 2024.
Thomas Massie votes against a bill? "Worst Republican in history." "Disloyal." "Sanctimonious fool." "May we never have to deal with him again."
Lauren Boebert campaigns for the wrong person? "Weak minded." "Dumb." "Carpetbagger." "Deserves a good primary fight."
This is the President of the United States.
Publicly trashing members of his own party because they didn't fall in line.
Not debating their positions. Not explaining why they're wrong. Not making a case.
Name calling.
On social media.
Like a teenager who got left out of the group chat.
"He's disloyal." "She's weak minded." "Vote them out."
That's not leadership. That's a popularity contest at a lunch table.
You disagree with the boss and instead of a conversation you get publicly humiliated and threatened with a primary challenger.
That's not how a president handles disagreement.
That's how a bully handles it.
Massie voted no on something he believed was wrong. That's literally his job. That's what Americans elected him to do. Think for himself and represent his district.
But in this version of the Republican Party, thinking for yourself gets you a public hit piece from the leader of the free world.
And the base cheers for it.
When did "loyalty to one man" replace "loyalty to the Constitution"?

Man, this is really sad. The Trump of yesterday would be disgusted by the Trump of today.
Now, going after Lauren Boebert, Trump just sent a message and a chilling effect to every other elected official to not even look Massie’s way.
Hopefully, Kentuckians are wise enough to recognize we aren’t dealing with the same Trump we all fell in love with.
It’s up to us to Save Trump from himself.

The volume of opposition to Massie (generally laced with lies) and the amount of money that came in for his ideologically vapid opponent tells me that Trump sycophants are scared to death of Massie staying in Congress, holding Trump to his campaign promises, and pointing out when Trump supports bills that are not conservative.
