@russvought Getting desperate? The Dems are asking for something 75% of Americans -- and 50% of Republicans -- want. So instead of making a deal and moving on, y'all are denying something with overwhelming public support.

@JDVance Y'all can bitch and moan all you want, but the truth is that the overwhelming majority of Americans -- including 50% of Republicans -- want the subsidies extended. Y'all are refusing to give the people what they want... that's at the root of the shutdown.

What the Democrats are doing on the government shutdown is genuinely unprecedented, and while the administration has shielded the American people from the worst of the consequences, all of this is coming, and soon: An aviation emergency that will lead to significant travel delays for all Americans. Food stamp and other assistance programs running out for needy Americans. Great strains on our military and national security. The shutdown has now passed from farce into tragedy, and the consequences of this national emergency fall on every senator and congressman who refuses to open the government.

@Heminator Check out the history of the FCC’s “fairness doctrine.” The argument put forth in the 80s was that cable etc meant that limited spectrum no longer created scarcity. The FCC concluded that the doctrine was no longer in the public interest.

Serious question—why does ABC get the public airwaves for two hours a day (The View and Kimmel) for far left propaganda? There’s no conservative programming whatsoever to balance it out. Why do I as a taxpayer have to subsidize this?

I've noticed a common phenomenon. Let's call it the boomerang effect. Lament the rise of an opinion or policy without noticing how your preferred policies helped cause it. Vaccination rates down - because you wrecked the reputation of vaccines during the pandemic by over claiming. Anti-immigrant feeling leading to difficulties for legal immigrants - because you welcomed millions of illegal immigrants and prevented them being deported. Prosecution of political opponents - because you did it too. Dislike seeing people cancelled for their opinions - because you started it. Rising climate scepticism - because you censored reasonable criticism of climate extremism. Anger at trans rights activists - because you shouted down concerns about men pretending to be women in sports and prisons. Government attacks on universities - because you turned them into ideological madrassas. Patriotic nationalism turning uglier - because you told people flags were racist. Criticism of judges - because they became nakedly political. Defunding of biotechnology - because you failed to call out dangerous gain-of-function virology as the likely cause of the death of 20 million+ people. Etc etc

Do you even know how many Americans were saved by doing this? The drugs on that boat would have killed thousands and put thousands of addicts at risk of death. You know nothing, absolutely nothing about what drugs do to people. You defending these POS smugglers says a hell of a lot about you than it does our vice president who is keeping Americans safe. So, STFU Brian!!

🚨 JD VANCE NAILS IT ON BIDEN'S CANCER DIAGNOSIS: "We really do need to be honest about whether the former president was capable of doing the job [...] I don't think that he was in good enough health. In some ways, I blame him less than I blame the people around him." "You can separate the desire for him to have the right health outcome with the recognition that whether it was doctors or whether there were staffers around the former president, I don't think he was able to do a good job for the American people. And that's not politics. That's not because I disagreed with him on policy. That's because I don't think that he was in good enough health." "And why didn't the American people have a better sense of his health picture? Why didn't the American people have more accurate information about what he was actually dealing with? This is serious stuff." "This is the guy who carries around the nuclear football for the world's largest nuclear arsenal. This is not child's play." "And we can pray for good health, but also recognize that if you're not in good enough health to do the job, you shouldn't be doing the job." 💯 @JDVance

@thehowie Sensitivity of PSA for stage 4 prostate cancer ain't that high. It might be "odd" but it's definitely not inconceivable that this got missed, even before before reaching stage 4... especially if aggressive. Stature and access doesn't guarantee a sensitivity & specificity of 100%.

It is inconceivable that this was not being followed before he left the Presidency. Gleason grade 9 would have had an elevated PSA level for some time before this diagnosis. And he must have had a PSA test numerous times before. This is odd. I wish him well and hope he has an opportunity for maximizing his quality of life.

Malcolm Gladwell@Gladwell·
To avoid embarrassment it might be useful to read RFK Jr’s book rather than rely on ChatGPT. The quote in question is on page 153: “[RotaTeq] almost certainly kills and injures more children in the United States than the rotavirus disease killed and injured prior to the vaccine’s introduction.” This quote is not in reference to the clinical trials data. It is based on a set of statistics that RFK does not provide a source for and that we concluded, after exhaustive research, that he probably made up. The RotaTeq vaccine showed 90 percent reduction in morbidity in developed countries—where, of course—a reduction in mortality would have been unlikely. In countries like India, in contrast, rotavirus vaccines have saved millions of lives. It takes a special kind of moral idiot to evaluate a public health innovation and forget about the developing world.
Nina Teicholz, PhD@bigfatsurprise

Quick fact check of initial claims in this piece: Gladwell claims RFK J said that the RotaTeq vaccine killed more kids than it saved; However, in RFK Jr's book, The Real Anthony Fauci, his claim is that the clinical trial data show 'no statistically significant reduction in deaths for kids on Rotateq' (from ChatGPT). This claim is accurate (I checked the trials). To counter RFK J claims, Gladwell asks his pharma friend about RotaTeq health outcomes. The friend says health outcomes are "once in a generation" improvements for symptoms (diarrhea). However, RFK J's claim was not about symptoms--it was about mortality (deaths), which are arguably far more important (not whether your kids gets diarrhea but ultimately if they survive). So, the apparent debunking of RFK J was not a debunking. Goal posts were shifted. @RobertKennedyJr

HUGE election integrity victory in Georgia. Democrat-run Cobb County wanted to accept 3,000 absentee ballots AFTER the Election Day deadline. We took this case to the Georgia Supreme Court. We just got word that we WON the case. Election Day is Election Day — not the week after. We will keep fighting, keep winning, and keep sharing updates.

@scue @samstein Technically, he "permanently barred" anyone who contributed to Haley's campaign from "the MAGA camp." I suppose he could argue there's a distinction between voting and contributing, and between the MAGA camp and voters at large. But he doesn't worry about being caught in a lie.

Peter Hotez published a book today in which he labeled those who oppose the following beliefs as ‘anti-science aggressors’: ▪️ Men can be women ▪️ CO2 is causing climate change ▪️ Covid vaccines are safe & effective ▪️ Masks work He even stated that Putin is financing those who challenge the narrative—no joke (see tweet below). So, it’s not surprising, but indeed shameful, that his book is being actively promoted by all these alleged experts and mainstream media.

The multiple indictments against Donald Trump are election interference. Democrats believe that anything is justified to stop him. They're willing to do everything they can to stop the voters from making the decision in the next election, including turning the Department of Justice into a political weapon. Jack Smith even asked for a gag order to try and prevent Donald Trump from publicly defending himself in this case. It would prohibit him from commenting that the jury pool in D.C. is 92% Democrat, the judge has a reputation as a left-wing partisan, or that the prosecution is blatantly political. If this gag order doesn't piss you off, you're not paying attention. This is election interference. It is wildly unconstitutional. It is a direct violation of the First Amendment. My full legal analysis of Jack Smith's request for a gag order is available exclusively on Verdict. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ver…
