Whilst I'm sad to cancel my last events of the year at Strumpshaw Fen (⛈️), this doesn't detract from how proud I am in raising c£2700 for @Natures_Voice in 2024 as a volunteer guided walk leader! It's a privilege sharing my passion with others for this wonderful place. 😄

@Norwichbirder The bright colour made me pot it for a closer look (especially as there weren't many moths) and @applewildlife suggested keeping it to see if it moulted - fascinating to see that it did. I will record it

@IainHLeach @BritishMoths @mothmatters Oooh, lucky you with the Marsh Carpet. It's about 7 weeks since this year's only Marsh Carpet in my Norwich garden. Are they usually this late at the site you visited? Or maybe just this year due to the weather?

I wasn't sure yesterday's moth would be beaten quickly, then (like buses!) this appeared in the traps this am. Marsh Carpet - 'Nationally Rare', 'Near Threatened', new for here and TG02 square and a long way from any known colonies. One I never thought we would ever find here.

@norfolkcanary29 Yep, everywhere under water with nowhere for it to go! Good luck on the bird count today - I'm guessing the grey wag was AWOL? On the plus side (??) there are loads of gulls around 😉

The second Red-breasted Goose was showing well with the Brent Geese on the saltmarsh at Holkham last thing this afternoon, just as the light was going (I needed an ISO of 12800!). The Brents were not very friendly and were continually harrying at it.

Open Studio .... bit of an early shout but it does get a bit busy that end of the year... so some advance warning... lots of others taking part - print, painting, pots, glass, wood, embroidery... not to mention fizz, fairy lights, cake and a lovely warm welcome! SAVE THAT DATE!
