.@Celestia's Matcha has been deployed on Arabica, featuring 128MB blocks and a reduced inflation rate of 2.5% 🍵 Matcha is the v6 release focused on higher DA throughput and cleaner issuance. It introduces a high-throughput propagation path and raises limits in sync, increasing max block size 16x from 8MB to 128MB, a step toward the ~1 GB/s data availability target. On the economics side, annual issuance is cut by half from 5% to 2.5%, and the minimum validator commission is set at 10%. The disinflation path remains unchanged, so inflation continues trending toward the long-term target while the higher commission floor helps keep operator revenue stable as issuance falls. Interoperability evolves in parallel by removing the token filter in the bridging stack. With CIP-39, IBC and @Hyperlane can route arbitrary assets rather than TIA-only, which preserves backward compatibility for existing flows and lets Celestia serve as a neutral routing layer when rollups need external liquidity. At the operator level, safety windows and tooling are aligned to risk bounds: - The trusting period is set to 7 days with a matching sampling window - The unbonding period is set to 14 days + 1 hour - The privval interface is extended to allow arbitrary off-chain message signing with consensus keys Patches also restore reward-claim behavior after stake moves and stabilize ICA edge cases so day-to-day operations match the new parameters out of the box. Taken together, this provides more predictable DA headroom for rollups, simplifies asset flows for apps, and sets clearer defaults for operators ahead of the mainnet rollout.
