@TazGweilo @Mac80277103 @SenatorSeanBell keep dreaming. elections are always won in the centre, either they get in line or stay on the fringes without a lick of power. no alternative.

spoke to a mate this morning who is a real estate agent and he felt the same thing:
1. rents will immediately go up
2. investors will hang on to their properties

The reaction to my new vid is funny.
It really feels like we're in Don't Look Up, I don't understand why people are so quick to dismiss this technology as a nothingburger when every scientist, researcher, noble prize winner, and CEO is telling you it's existential.
Societally we have oppositional defiance disorder. The metaheuristic of the internet is "everything is dubious, nothing is real", and we keep following that even when it clearly doesn't apply. We deny everything because it makes us feel smart, wise, or having access to esoteric knowledge.
When a scientist tells you their invention is safe, we believe them to be lying. When a company tells you their technology is dangerous, we assume them to be hyping it up.
There is no precedent for what is happening in tech, this isn't part of a cycle you can predict, and nothing like this has ever happened in human history.
There is no bubble, AI isn't a "dead end".

I feel for the young people of today looking at buying a house.
In my day, it was about 3x the average wage to purchase a home. In some places now, its 15x wages.
Add to that, the government is leaving the future generations with a $1 trillion dollar debt that they'll have to pay off.
It's time to wake up to ourselves as a country and get it back on track.

@PasqualePerri7 @BMAU000 what part of “largest voting bloc who doesn’t own any assets” are you misunderstanding? the majority of australians want the govt to go further

Some serious meetings happening in Canberra among Albanese's Generals right now, in response to the fierce backlash against #Budget2026
I don't expect Albanese to lead Labor to the next election #auspol

@netz_melb forgetting the 230,000 people a year emigrating from Australia retard? This isn’t a migrant issue, it’s an investor issue
English

Anthony Albanese's changes to negative gearing and CGT will have no effect on housing affordability.
It's all about supply & demand. There's too much demand & not enough supply.
He's using the smokescreen of house prices to fulfill his fantasy of wealth redistribution.

New Zealand already tested a similar policy. Investor tax deductions were removed to improve affordability, but investor activity fell, rental supply tightened, and rents rose.
Now Australia appears to be heading down the same path.
