Calf injuries are one of the worst injuries a footballer can get. Messi purposely stepped on his opponent’s calf, and that could have caused a very serious injury or even a leg break. VAR checked it, yet there was no yellow card or red card because he is Messi. 😳 The agenda for Argentina has started again

IKER CASILLAS ON JAPAN’S GOALKEEPER (SUZUKI) AFTER THE NETHERLANDS GAME: “Football is strange sometimes. You can watch a match filled with world class attackers, big names, expensive talent… and somehow, the player everyone leaves talking about is the goalkeeper. That happened yesterday. I have watched goalkeepers for most of my life. I know the difference between a keeper having a ‘good game’ and a keeper controlling the emotions of an entire stadium. What Japan’s goalkeeper did against the Netherlands was far beyond a normal performance. You can teach reflexes. You can teach positioning. But you cannot teach mentality. That boy played without fear yesterday. Against a team with that much attacking quality, most goalkeepers panic. They lose concentration after one mistake, they start second-guessing themselves, they become nervous under pressure. He did the exact opposite. He looked calm, focused… almost arrogant in the best way possible. Every save gave confidence to his defenders. Every touch looked composed. Even when the pressure increased, he never looked affected. At one point, I genuinely celebrated because I thought the ball was already in the net… and somehow he still kept it out. People will remember the scoreline. I will remember the goalkeeper. Trust me… after this tournament, Europe will know his name.”

🚨Dominik Szoboszlai on the Japanese players displaying Endo wataru jersey at the end of game they draw against the Netherlands. 🗣️“Moments like this are emotional and heartfelt to watch even though they had a draw against a big and powerful squad Netherland but the topic wasn’t the result they had after the game. Endo retired from the National team just two days away from the World Cup due to injury as a captain who came with them to lead their nation through the tournament, this are the most painful and horrible moment in football for a player to be IN. Much respect to the players for putting him first after the game it really mean a lot to the player and his family and we those who are his teammates at the club level — it will always be remarkable for him cause it was a special moment for everyone around him.”

🚨🗣️New: Zlatan Ibrahimovic breaks down Moriyasu’s whiteboard genius vs Netherlands: “I’ve seen a lot in football, big clubs, big egos, big money but what Hajime Moriyasu did against the Netherlands? That’s genius. Pure leadership. While the big European teams are busy with their fancy tablets and shouting into the noise, this man pulls out a simple whiteboard with giant handwritten numbers and outsmarts everyone. Respect.” “Primary purpose? Time management in a roaring stadium. Shouting gets lost. But those oversized numbers — ‘45’ at half-time, then the countdown ‘3’, ‘2’, ‘1’ late on — every player, even the wide attackers far from the bench, sees it instantly. No ambiguity. When you’re trailing 2-1, that injects real psychological urgency. Japan stayed composed, recycled possession patiently, and surged exactly when it mattered. That’s smart coaching.” “And analysts are right to speculate there’s a secondary layer. Those numbers could easily be pre-coded tactical signals — press intensity, formation tweaks, set-piece routines, or mindset shifts. Japan’s style is highly organized, almost scientific. There was even a brief flip with the wrong number shown, but it didn’t derail them. That’s discipline.” Tactical impact? Massive. Psychologically, it gave Japan a focus edge. Clear time awareness prevented panic or complacency. The whole team felt the urgency together — perfect for Moriyasu’s emphasis on unity and tenacity. Defensively, their compact ‘honeycomb’ shape frustrated the Dutch despite all that possession. Substitutes like Ito and Ogawa delivered, and the late push produced the equalizer. The board helped them execute in the chaos while countering Koeman’s defensive changes. Communication superiority at its finest. Analog beats tech failures or crowd noise any day. Visible across the entire pitch. It fits Japan’s adaptive philosophy — that post-2024 shift to a balanced 3-4-2-1. They earned a valuable point against one of the favorites and exposed a bit of over-conservatism late on. Football isn’t always about having the best players. Sometimes it’s about having the smartest coach. The Netherlands had more possession. Japan had more clarity. And clarity wins more matches than ego.”

🇳🇱💦 Virgil van Dijk has spoken out against the hydration breaks at the World Cup. Finally a player is saying what all the fans are thinking: 🗣️ Van Dijk: "Hydration breaks are a bit interesting, because I was obviously watching almost all the games up until today, and every time going to commercials is a bit... I really don't like it. I think for the neutral watchers on TV it's also not great. If it's really hot, obviously it would be good to put them in. But I think you have to look at it in every game, separately, in my opinion. But I think I've said enough already for that."

🚨 Thierry Henry Hails Japan After Heroic Draw Against Netherlands 🗣️ Thierry Henry has heaped praise on Japan following their impressive 2-2 draw against the Netherlands at the FIFA World Cup. Speaking after the match, the Arsenal legend described Japan’s performance as “one of the most courageous displays of the tournament so far.” 🇯🇵 “From the first whistle to the last, Japan were the better team,” Henry said. “People will look at the result and see a draw, but for me they deserved more than one point. Their intensity, discipline, movement and belief were outstanding.” 🔥 Henry was particularly impressed by Japan’s resilience, highlighting how they absorbed wave after wave of Dutch pressure while continuing to attack with confidence. 🗣️ “The Netherlands threw everything at them. Different systems, different attacking patterns, but Japan never panicked. Every time they were tested, they responded. That is the sign of a top team.” 👏 “They showed character, heart and tactical intelligence. Even when the Dutch pushed hard, Japan refused to back down. They fought for every ball and played with real personality.” 🇯🇵 Henry concluded by saying that if Japan maintain this level throughout the tournament, they could become one of the biggest surprises of the World Cup. 🗣️ “Tonight they earned the respect of the football world. In my opinion, Japan leave this game disappointed because they deserved all three point

Virgil van Dijk on Wataru Endō after Japan’s 2-2 draw with the Netherlands national football team: 🗣️ “I have to say, that moment with Endō’s shirt left on the bench… it was emotional. Even as an opponent, you could feel the weight of it. To hear he withdrew from the squad due to injury and then announced his retirement on the eve of the World Cup that’s heartbreaking. No player deserves that. Not after all the years of sacrifice and discipline it takes to reach this stage. When you step out on that pitch and you know a teammate like that should have been there, it changes something in the atmosphere. You feel it in the dressing room, you feel it during the match, and you definitely feel it after the final whistle. What Japan did tonight by keeping his jersey with them wasn’t just respect—it was love. It showed how much he means to that group, not just as a player but as a leader. As a footballer, you understand how fragile these moments are. One injury, one twist of fate, and a dream can disappear right before your eyes. That’s the cruel side of this game people don’t always see. So when I saw that shirt on the bench, I didn’t see a symbol of absence. I saw a reminder of what they’re fighting for. And honestly, teams that carry that kind of emotion with them… they become very dangerous. Very united. Very hard to break down. Tonight wasn’t just about a 2-2 draw. It was about a team playing with someone in their hearts who couldn’t be on the pitch with them.”
