We’re seeing oil and gas prices skyrocket and have no mechanism to ensure Australians benefit from higher prices - we currently just get slugged with higher petrol and energy prices while gas companies make bank. We can and should fix the broken PRRT that allows gas companies to book windfall profits while paying very little tax. It's time for a 25% tax on gas export revenue. The Govt should quickly introduce an immediate tax of at least 50% on the extra revenue companies earn from war-driven price spikes. Supernormal profits for resource companies in wartime aren’t a reward for innovation or investment, they’re simply windfalls created by conflict.

One Nation pushes the narrative that Australian living standards are the worst they have ever been. Living standards in Australia are the best they have ever been. Survival rates from cancer are the best they have ever been. Most houses before the 1960s did not have running toilets within the house. Many families did not have televisions. If you were poor, then there was not a welfare safety net to help you. Children were put into institutional care and abused. It was normal for poor families to not have their children complete high school and sometimes not even primary school. If you were a single, teen or black mother then your children were taken off you. Now tell me how One Nation is going to make Australia great again? Australia is already great. We are not perfect but our standards of living are better than it’s ever been.
