“Finally, it’s Dad’s turn.” Those were the heartbreaking words of Alma, Dror’s daughter, when she learned yesterday that her father’s remains had been returned to Israel. Alma Or was kidnapped from her home with her brother when she was just 13. When they were released, she discovered her mother had been murdered and her father was still being held hostage in Gaza. Now, more than two years later, Alma and her two brothers will finally be able to bury their father beside their mother, to have a grave, and a place to grieve. May Dror’s memory forever be a blessing.

According to the information and intelligence available to the IDF: Dror Or, 48, was murdered by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization on Oct. 7th, 2023, and his body was abducted to Gaza from his home in Kibbutz Be’eri. His death was officially determined on May 2nd, 2024. He leaves behind three children. His wife, Yonat Or, was also murdered during the attack on the kibbutz. Two of his children, Alma and Noam, were also abducted and returned two years ago, as part of the hostage release agreement in November 2023. The IDF expresses deep condolences to the family and continues to make every effort to return all hostages to their families for a proper and dignified burial. Hamas is required to fulfill its part of the agreement and make the necessary efforts to return all the hostages to their families and to a dignified burial.
