Strange emotions about the launch of Dragonflight. Obviously super excited for what I think could be a wonderful expac, but also very aware that with the move and kids we have not got nearly the video output that we have done previously and that others have managed.

@cortesi I don't know many seeking out fascists. I know there's a few who refuse to cede ground too quickly - but a lot of people I follow have slowed or stopped posting here entirely. I can say that my mastodon feed is of higher quality than Twitter at this point.

@bortels Having a venue where you can engage in performative virtue by calling people fascists is exactly one of Twitter's value propositions. That's why some people threaten to leave for Mastodon, but then paradoxically increase their engagement here.

While some communities might be able to peel off and find a home on Mastodon, you can't compete with Twitter's key value proposition: everyone is here. We'll never supplant Twitter with a copycat alternative: there must be some unique improvement to user experience.
