@OrevaZSN @bdk1521 1/ Its not true; AI is making fewer mistakes compared to number of uses, it is making more mistakes in total because it is being used more. If newer AI models were actually getting worse, they wouldn't get used and vendors would keep old models in use. Individual models don’t

I came across a theory that AI is starting to make more mistakes because the internet is increasingly polluted with AI slop. The idea of AI cannibalising itself into obscurity is one of my favourite things ever. I hope it is true and I hope it becomes impossible to fix.

I find it quite funny how some of the “New New Yorkers” want to be known as New Yorkers but hate how we travel (cars are awesome), how the NYPD made this city livable for them but they detest them, & they embrace socialism which is as anti-New York and anti-American as they come.

It’s like, “Why did you choose advertising (arguably the second most capitalist industry) in the city of global finance (the most capitalist industry)?”

Baumol's cost disease is so devastating. It drives up the price of major, necessary services (education, childcare, eldercare, healthcare), there's no solution, and it makes people SO mad and discontent.
They just require too much human labor atm. No productivity gains in sight.

@suchnerve @spookysvetlana I think women get a similar benefit to men from wearing suits (both without and with a suit, they have a penalty from society’s misogyny, but the suit delta is similar), but are less likely to be able to wear an off-the-rack suit without significant tailoring for full effect.

@evilduck92 @suchnerve There’s a weak and poorly-tuned (more or less so in different systems) thermostatic response in most modern mixed economies, but that is because modern mixed economies are a (small) drift away from capitalism, not because thermostatic response is inherent to capitalism.
