Developers are going to love the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE), just built and tested a Proof of Reserve Workflow! Link to the early access program below 👇

@jonjonclark @ChainLinkGod @redstone_defi @chainlink Yeah, the last point is important. Not just data complexity, but compute. Also worth noting that data payload/calldata size doesn't necessarily correlate to the amount of gas used (just to avoid using those interchangeably).

Exactly. I initially assumed: gas cost = gas used * gas price Where: • gas price (competitive oracle updates) varies significantly. • gas used (data payload) is relatively similar across providers. But answers indicate: • gas used differs notably based on data complexity (callData).

How much are oracles like Chainlink, Redstone, and others paying to push price updates on-chain? 👀👇 In the last 24 hours on the ETH/USD mainnet feed: - @redstone_defi : $6.05 (44 updates) - @chainlink : $24.88 (45 updates) Are lower costs tied to efficiency or slower price updates? More to explore here ...

Interesting, my initial assessment was that gas cost was actually more of a function of gas price, i.e. oracles racing to quickly push updates to chain as a deviation threshold is breached (this factor driving price). Interesting to hear its possibly more a function of callData / gasUsed in the actual update ...

For the benefit of the whole industry we are sharing this report: Summary: Only very few machines had access. Initial compromise happened trough a supply chain attack via a privileged docker image doing "yaml load" from disguised but malicious sources. From there privileges were extended despite layers of security. Eventually Bybit was targeted. It will take the whole industry to step up to defend against those kind of attacks.

@LinkiesLeaks @stakedotlink I'm not sure if the code is published on github, but the contracts are verified on Etherscan. You can see the v0.2 staking reward vault here: #code" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">etherscan.io/address/0x9969… Search for "function getReward(" or _getReward( to find the functions that calculate your rewards

I am a newbie. I have 100 $LINK in staking.chain.link. Now I earned 10 $LINK from staking. If I want to have compound interest, should I take the 10 $LINK and put in staking or automatically what I earned in staking.chain.link it is staked and I earn from it?

@LinkiesLeaks Well that's the problem, nobody at chainlink could be bothered to document this 😂 As others mentioned, @stakedotlink can give higher rewards if you're concerned about compounding, just beware of additional risk (because you're trusting additional smart contracts) and gas costs

@ExpoExponential Yeah, I have considered picking it up for a weeked project to get familiar with it. Definitely doesn't hurt learning. But at least for me lately there haven't been any projects where it wouldn't make sense to just go for TS or Go.

@boxhock Completely agree with both these takes, been looking to expand the toolbox a bit, and lower level programming is a lot of fun (when it doesn’t segfault)

Is Zig worth learning? Been almost 100% been doing Golang for the last couple of months for backend, but I have quite a bit of experience with lower-level from C. Some of these performance benchmarks for Zig are extremely good....

@KuphDev Open composer, put it in agent mode, and give it a tedious but simple task (e.g. refactor, write tests). Sit back and relax while Cursor writes code, tests it, and iterates on it without your intervention 🙂

Norwegian gov to ban mining at large-scale data centers. Cites emissions, and energy consumption control. First country in Europe - it won't be the last. Misguided, ineffective and futile. Perfectly on brand, for both a failing country and continent 🇪🇺 vg.no/nyheter/i/9zgy…
