It's completely unnecessary to destroy books when machines like this exist. This book scanner by Treventus for example, can scan fragile books without destroying it.

People are shitting on Emily Wilson for her observation of race in the Odyssey but I do think that critiquing all these other social ills of Greece like patriarchy, war, hierarchal kingship, & religion but treating it like a color blind society is a form of tokenism.
