@boykovdesignco hit the usage limits twice, but it was fun to work with. I’m sure I could optimize a few things to make it faster, but I genuinely enjoyed improving the app step by step and having full control over it

this is the best way I've found to integrate AI into my workflow. real use cases, not gimmicks. we launched ninedays last week. I'd picked a nice icon collection that fit the brand, but I always knew I wanted something custom. had the idea, didn't have time to build it, so we shipped. the project had already sat on our shelf for almost a year. I'd done this once before, built a small app in claude to generate custom patterns for a client branding project. worked surprisingly well. so I tried the same approach for ninedays: built an app that generates animated icons and exports as lottie. few days after launch, I spent some time getting the app to produce exactly what I needed. this is becoming a staple in my branding and web work from now on.

most esports jerseys look like templates. we’re trying to make them feel like product.

@NoahShreve Congrats! Curious to hear if you niched down right away or did a more open approach when finding clients? Once you found them, what did commitment look like from their end? Pretty quick or did it take a bit of nurturing before they were on board?

Designers stuck under $10k/month – AMA I went from laid off to running a $200k+ design business working 20 hours a week. I'm sharing everything I've learned – pricing, finding clients, systems, anything you want answered. Drop your question below ↓

@adriankuleszo Looks really nice. What does the back and forth look like, pretty good output out of the gate?

New AI workflow in my design process: Lottie animations straight out of Claude. Uploaded a bunch of SVGs and explained the type of animation, the timing I wanted, and how each element should move. It generated Lotties from that, ready to drop into Framer.

@LukeADesign to be fair it took way too long for me to find spotify yesterday. Delayed my workout by a good minute or two 🤣

Woke up and can’t believe Spotify have changed their app icon to an incorrect green temporary fun disco ball, what about the UX behavioural conversion rate

Illustrator over Figma for logos, all day everyday. 2 reasons why: 1. Everything I need is built in. In Figma, I feel like I'm often hunting for a specific plugin that may or may not actually work for what I need. Illustrator has everything I need (for the most part) built in. Puppet warp, envelope distort, the blend tool, easy to find and easy to use. 2. Illustrator was made for this. Figma is incredible for decks, digital assets, brand exploration, I use it daily for that. But I'm still not hitting that flow state with it for logos. There's probably plugins or new features for all of these things on Figma, but I think I'm maybe just too old school and stuck in my ways to switch. If it works why fix it... for now.

@ituadesign Depending on how often / how much you need to manage your site, using Framer or Webflow can be a good solution. If price is your biggest concern, there's multiple options of what may work best

Highly recommend utilizing your free will to design your life. I live in Hawaii, work on a snorkel boat, am building a business, train hard with my friends, healthmaxx, and explore the islands in my free time. Wake up, you don’t have to be locked in an office 5 days a week.

Patterns I noticed in successful people in my life: - They have a psychopathic sense of urgency - They are "working" all the time. Even when it doesn't look like it - They are delusionally optimistic about their goals - They have a very small circle of friends - They are interested in ideas more than people - They write more than anyone else - They have the ability to make things happen even when it seems impossible

@jdreeves Would be super valuable. I always find myself thinking "what did it take to get here?" when I see a new brand announcement. Having a bit more insight into that would be awesome

i love brand new (the design opinion website) and have been thinking lately, it would be really cool and helpful if there was a site like that specifically in tech. critiquing and cataloging brands, rebrands, web refreshes, maybe even product launches, campaigns etc. thoughts?
