The Government of India has officially notified the ₹10,000 crore Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0—a significant step forward in strengthening India’s startup financing ecosystem. Building on the original Fund of Funds framework, this next phase is designed to mobilise domestic capital through SEBI-registered Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), enabling greater access to funding for startups across sectors and stages. With a sharper, future-focused approach, the scheme prioritises: * Deep tech and long-gestation innovation * Early-stage and growth-stage startups * Innovation-driven manufacturing under Make in India * Sector-agnostic investments to widen ecosystem reach The initiative also introduces enhanced operational flexibility for fund managers, higher support for capital-intensive sectors, and a structured segmentation of AIFs to drive targeted, high-impact investments. Beyond capital, the scheme aims to strengthen ecosystem development through mentorship, capacity building, and broader access to venture funding—ensuring startups are not just funded, but nurtured for long-term success.
