College coaches are hilarious with the “be sure of how to approach me in my dm’s”. I’m all for kids talking respectfully, but get off your high horse. We coach a game with a ball. They play a game with a ball. You ain’t the mayor. If the kid was 6’5+ you wouldn’t care at all.

High school coaches chasing stars at other schools instead of developing the kids in their own program is wild to me. Build what you have. Develop your backyard. That's real coaching.

7on7 keeps getting further and further away from football. Less development. More stupidity. More theatrics. More people embarrassing the game. Fighting a ref at a 7on7 is insane work. High school coaches are expected to be champions, recruiting consultants, film scouts, & relationship managers — on top of teaching 6 classes a day. For pennies on the dollar. Some good ones are walking away. That’s a problem nobody’s talking about.

If your admin is not supportive, winning is much harder.

Of course your club coach is going to tell you how amazing you are, how your HS coach is hating on you and how they can “get you to the next level”. You keep paying them thousands of dollars every year to be on their team…

It’s ok to say you became a teacher so that you could coach.
