Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський
Today, I appointed Chrystia Freeland @cafreeland as an Advisor on Economic Development. Chrystia is highly skilled in these matters and has extensive experience in attracting investment and implementing economic transformations. Right now, Ukraine needs to strengthen its internal resilience – both for the sake of Ukraine’s recovery if diplomacy delivers results as swiftly as possible, and to reinforce our defense if, because of delays by our partners, it takes longer to bring this war to an end. I am grateful to everyone who is ready to support our state and our engagement with partners. Glory to Ukraine!

- Statement on Venezuela - Mark Carney has placed Canada on the wrong side of history by supporting the U.S. attack on Venezuela and the kidnapping of their elected president, Nicolás Maduro. Trump has used the same drug-themed rhetoric to justify this action as he previously used to target Canada while calling for our annexation. In both cases, Trump’s real motivation is oil, natural resources, U.S. expansionism, and global control. It’s no surprise that just hours after the kidnapping, President Trump declared that the U.S. would “run Venezuela” and that U.S. oil companies would be moving in. Trump also said that the U.S. would prevent another leader who opposes U.S. interests from being elected. “We don’t want someone else to come in and have the same situation… so we are going to run the country.” Canadian media has already begun propagandizing us with narratives about Maduro being a “dictator.” Canada’s hands are dirty. The Trudeau government supported and participated in a coup attempt in Venezuela in 2019. Chrystia Freeland, the neo-Nazi-supporting Canadian foreign affairs minister, recognized a marginal politician who had not even run in the election as the country’s president after he swore himself in at an outdoor rally. Today, rather than condemning Trump’s invasion, Carney was boasting about how one of his first moves as PM was to apply additional sanctions to Venezuela. Trump’s invasion of Venezuela is clearly illegal under international law. It is clearly an act of U.S. imperialism, yet Canada is cheering it on and providing support for this crime. Free Nicolás Maduro. Solidarity with the people of Venezuela. The Green Party of Quebec has already begun working with the Québécois Movement for Peace and other organizations to protest this coup and advocate for an end to U.S. imperialism. Canadian leftists are terrified. And, they should be. Its been demonstrated that they are 2-3 hours away from losing power and any given time. That said, the fact that this got 1.8k likes IS INSANE. THIS is extremely dangerous rhetoric.

The US has attacked a country, kidnapped its head of state, and is seizing its oil. Trump has invoked the Monroe Doctrine. This is a moment for Canada to stand up: condemn this act of imperialism. Reject impunity and the politics of brute force.  State clearly that we will not support a US invasion in any way whatsoever – and that includes our oil companies and weapons industry. This is my position as a candidate for leader of the NDP.  Canada’s response has shown why we need the NDP: Poilievre applauds Trump. Carney's government cannot muster a single world of criticism.  Whatever you think about Maduro, Canada cannot be an accessory to this blatant violation of international law.

Canada needs nuclear weapons, NOW. We need to be able to threaten America with nuclear annihilation or they will do to us what they are doing to Venezuela.

@LauraBabcock Say what? You don't speak for Canada anymore than I. You don't have to like Trump or the way he went about this but Maduro has been a nightmare for Venezuela for years. Instead of just losing your mind of someone you don't like, try looking into how happy Venezuelan's seem to be

One of the first actions taken by Canada’s new government in March 2025 was to impose additional sanctions on Nicolás Maduro’s brutally oppressive and criminal regime — unequivocally condemning his grave breaches of international peace and security, gross and systematic human rights violations, and corruption. Canada has not recognised the illegitimate regime of Maduro since it stole the 2018 election. The Canadian government therefore welcomes the opportunity for freedom, democracy, peace, and prosperity for the Venezuelan people. Canada has long supported a peaceful, negotiated, and Venezuelan-led transition process that respects the democratic will of the Venezuelan people. In keeping with our long-standing commitment to upholding the rule of law, sovereignty, and human rights, Canada calls on all parties to respect international law. We stand by the Venezuelan people’s sovereign right to decide and build their own future in a peaceful and democratic society. Canada attaches great importance to resolution of crises through multilateral engagement and is in close contact with international partners about ongoing developments. We are first and foremost ready to assist Canadians through our consular officials and our embassy in Bogotá, Colombia, and will continue to support Venezuelan refugees.

Should Alberta take over the collection of personal income taxes from the Canada Revenue Agency? This idea isn’t new. Quebec already does it. And under the Constitution, Alberta has every right to follow suit. There are both benefits and drawbacks to this approach. 🎥 Take a look at this video to learn the pros and cons and let me know what you think at alberta.ca/next

@MarkJCarney How about instead of using tax dollars, add restrictions to how much dentists can charge? My last checkup the quote for work was almost $8000. I went to Mexico, got better work done, and it was $3000, including flights and a week in an all inclusive.

We’re expanding the Canadian Dental Care Plan. Starting today, Canadians aged 55-64 can apply. In the coming weeks, applications will open to Canadians aged 18-54.   Because of this plan, millions of people can now afford to see a dentist — some for the first time in decades. Soon, millions more will get that same care.

@liberal_party Neil Young posting an endorsement, lol, even if it was fake it would still be satire. I suppose it is on brand for him because Young wholeheartedly supports censorship.

@MelissaLantsman 100%. And even now, they didn't end iy, they're just attempting to buy votes by pretending they ended it instead of just temporarily making it zero so they can raise it again at will.

There should be just one takeaway from the fall in gas prices: the Liberals had the power ALL along to make life more affordable for you and your family. They did absolutely nothing until they needed your vote. What happens again when they no longer need it? I’ll give you one guess.
Mona Fortier 🇨🇦@MonaFortier

Our policies are already hard at work! Gas prices are already coming down, and we're putting more money back in Canadians' pockets. Canadian families can trust that a #Liberal government will make life more affordable and bring down the cost of living, starting at the pump ⛽️

@brianlilley Carney is the type of capitalist people hate, not the average one. He's an elitist member of the #wef and while I can't prove it, the sheer percentage of votes in the leadership race is suspect.

Wow! Mark Carney gets very testy when asked about his assets by the Globe’s Stephanie Levitz and then lectures CBC’s Rosemary Barton for following up. Something is up here. And really? Lecturing two journalists about their questions?
