When I did web design, on discovery calls I always asked “is anything else going on in your life that makes this feel important to do now?” Every single time, there was a personal & emotional reason at play alongside the obvious business one.

Marketers shouldn’t be expected to “measure everything” Why? Many of the events that trigger people to take action are happening in your customer’s real lives… Not in your funnels Just because you can’t measure it doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter

Creativity hacks are on my 💩list. Channelling my 85-year-old-Grandpa-shouting-get-off-my-lawn vibes with today's #ship30for30 essay.

#ship30for30 delinquents UNITE! 🙌 It's OK if you broke the chain. Do you want to keep going? You can. Do you want to join me? You can! (No but really, do you? Because I'm still deciding what another round might look like even if I don't write daily. Anyone else?) Onward...

@BosmerBae Would you be open to chatting more with this about me @BosmerBae ? Wondering if people are actually interested in having help w/ putting something like this (less snarky, more helpful) together for themselves...

If most productivity advice wants to treat us all like robots, then you better believe I'm gonna poke fun at it until nothing makes sense anymore. 🤷🏻‍♀️ BEHOLD: my personal operating manual, 1.0. What's in yours? #ship30for30 day 18 👇🏻

@monicalimco Awesome... I think it's about defining what a good number feels like for you. Love that 3-5 feel good. For me, 1 client in a week feels best. Then maybe 2 other things outside of that...

@brainofnat Love the idea of the follow week. I try to focus on 3-5 pjts max each week. And that has helped a lot.

Managing your creative process alongside external deadlines can be tricky. I've had to learn a lot of strategies the hard way. Here are 3 ideas that have helped me manage myself as a creative for hire: #ship30for30 Day 16👩🏻‍💻

@brainofnat Fan-f*cking-tastic! Loved that you leaned all the way into the format & tone of an operating manual. We should all have one of these. I hope you expand on this and build it out. (If you enjoyed creating this, I am sure you could lead workshops helping others with theirs!)

@brainofnat First, the look of this essay is fantastic. Well done. Second, it read like a steampunk manual for robots. What a joy to read. You're nailing it.

@Keshavatearth @Keshavatearth I mean to understand the different tasks that require different kinds of energy from you. For example moving from phone calls to deep thinking work is super hard for me, and I need a big break between them.

@brainofnat I chose this over reading one thing for a time then moving to other. My target isn't to be expert in all these but to be aware of the field and widen my perspective.

I used to have "selective remembering" about what was in my calendar... until I started planning my time in a way that works for me. Time-blocking is only a small piece of the 🥧! #ship30for30 day 17 (I'm catching up!)

@brainofnat I mostly use the maps when there’s a mix of automations + manual work. The map doesn’t replace SOPs but works hand in hand! The maps show all the decision points + automated actions + then links to SOPs for anything manual. Thanks for the ideas!

If you are setting up systems that involve multiple tools, steps, stakeholders and automations, you gotta be making flowcharts to visually map your processes. You will never be stumped trying to remember exactly *how* that email was getting triggered, ever again.
