Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

Our Houdini artists did fantastic work here. I gave them reference footage of the Jem Hadar battle cruiser getting exploded in #DS9's Sacrifice of Angels. I wanted to replicate the cascading explosion along the hull as we flew by. They nailed it. #StarTrek #StarTrekPicard #VFX

@kyalbr A lot of discussion whether this was practical or VFX. I think it would be more complicated to do in VFX than just getting it right on set. Watching Joaquin's eyes, maybe a monitor reflection in the glass, or a mark beyond the lipstick to nail the line-up? Pure speculation

I’m going to adjust the wording of “the cycle of VFX misinformation” because it isn’t inclusive of filmmakers that make nuanced, thoughtful statements that get ripped up and willfully distorted by garbage media outlets which starts the cycle.
