@liambyrnemp Just raise the tax threshold. Scrap net zero. Give people more money to spend. Grow the economy
English

@MrEdMaths @anaboultertv Yeah. You don’t understand do you? Bless. You could just be grown up and admit it, or keep digging
English

@anaboultertv This man is more accurate than the newspaper headline that nobody has issue with. The study was on “fee support” ie bursaries AND scholarships & found that not only did low earners only get 1/6 of awards but also that middle earner awards were on average 50% more than low earners
English

@brayster1972 @GuyEmma68700 @DavidHeadViews It was a reply to the original poster - sorry did it get tagged to your post?

@wesstreeting @LabourList You could have had a bigger say when you were health secretary! Why say nothing then? You weren’t scared of Starmer were you..? 😂😂😂

Labour must seize the moment and ban social media for under 16s - as many Labour MPs have argued for some time…

@paullewismoney The arrogance of telling another country their long established culture of tipping is wrong. What an arrogant, low IQ, internet weapon you are!
English

If you can’t afford to pay your staff properly, you can’t run a restaurant!
kira 👾@kirawontmiss
tipping culture is getting ridiculous
English

@paullewismoney You’re still not making a distinction between bursaries and scholarships. You either don’t have the intellectual capacity to do so or are too ideologically driven to do so. This excludes you from the debate.
English

So here is the actual account of the research from UCL. People who still think their anecdotes are better evidence than this serious study can at least refer them to the right place. Perhaps even read the actual research.!
Steve Edwards@MrEdMaths
@TheScholar44 @NoEducationTax @paullewismoney Yes, Francis Green and Golo Henseke were co-authors. There’s some information here from UCL. ucl.ac.uk/news/2026/may/…
English

@RachelforLWP Muppet. These places are more expensive to go to because of your tax, NI and minimum wage policies. Just raise the tax threshold and make work pay
English

@RemoaningW @GuyEmma68700 @DavidHeadViews You know what? Take the blinkers off and do a bit of research and maybe, maybe apply some compassion and common sense.
English

@lukeakehurst After raising taxes and employment costs for these businesses so they can no longer operate or their goods become unaffordable.

Rachel Reeves tells ministers to ‘buy British’ in four key industries theguardian.com/politics/2026/…
English

@PeterTCross @LJRyder16 @paullewismoney @Ald19Dr Exactly the same. But you’re not supposed to mention inequality in the state sector. Nor how many of the rich elite said their kids there
English

@LJRyder16 @paullewismoney @Ald19Dr Bit like what happens with the best state schools then when wealthier families with financial flexibility game the system and move into a catchment?

@David90shaw If ever you needed more evidence to ensure Burnham doesn’t win..
English

But here is the absolute best part. Labour is so completely fractured that senior left-wing MPs are literally threatening to defect to the Green Party! They are currently holding secret talks with the Greens, keeping their defections paused just to see if Burnham can save them on June 18th. Starmer's government is literally blackmailing itself while the country falls apart. What a total clown show. 🤡📉
English

🚨 BREAKING: Here we go! The complete and utter disintegration of the Labour Party is happening right in front of our eyes. Keir Starmer has just been warned that even if Andy Burnham LOSES his upcoming by-election, the Prime Minister will STILL be dragged out of Downing Street by his own party. They are finished with him. 🧵👇
English

@GBNEWS But those are the ISAs she wanted to push us towards (in order to show false growth of economy). This government are vile. Tax. Tax. Tax. Anyone who has anything. Tax. Nothing in return.

🚨OUTRAGEOUS: Labour MP Darren Jones thinks it’s totally fine for MPs to drink alcohol on the job! 🍺🍷
When challenged on MPs boozing in Parliament bars before votes that affect the entire country, Jones shrugged it off like it’s no big deal.
He compared them to “normal office workers” instead of people wielding massive power over millions.
“You don’t have a problem with it? A lot of people in this country WILL! We can at the very least expect them not to drink during work hours,” he was told.
Jones doubled down: “I don’t have a problem in the slightest.”
Absolutely ridiculous!
Another example of politicians being completely out of touch with the public.
No wonder the country’s f*cked!
English

@paullewismoney Because you’ve got scholarships and bursaries conflated. You’ve been told. And you still double down. No point in debating with you
English

For those arguing with me please produce some counter evidence (not random anecdotes) and challenge the academics who did this research. The journalist who wrote this summarised it and I attempted to do the same. I’m sorry if the findings conflict with your view. Catholics had the same trouble with Galileo.

@TomPMarshall @Traveling_Sober @mae_honk And strong evidence to suggest increase in CO2 follows warming…
English

@Traveling_Sober @mae_honk Here is another graph for you to consider
There is a time lag of decades or centuries between change in CO2 & chances in extent of polar ice caps. But you can see the general direction of travel.
