@GoodWillsmith I like it on certain background elements or in certain parts but not over the top of everything or prominent tracks. Creatively is fun. I mastered a track recently that crushed their reverb and it was really cool

for someone who can't stop talking about texture & tone in music, something about bitcrushing just doesn't sit right with me. not a branch of texture that i enjoy. can't hear it without being like "ah they broke out the bitcrusher eh 🙄"

Doing some calibration on the Requisite L2M MKIII. It desperately needed it as the right channel was compressing more than the left and the meters were way off. I spent all night dialing it in and now it’s sounding soooo good. Now it just needs a cleaning and new lights. #gear

@SolarHeavy Don’t really see how AI can take your song from a simple screenshot without seeing waveforms, synth patches, routing etc. it would probably be easier for AI to remake a song by just taking the stereo master release and analyzing it there, as some programs already do.

make whatever music you can right now and I'd suggest not sharing project files visually anymore

@AbnormalWaysWeb @bennjordan Artists benefit by being on the platform that others are on so people can explore and find new artists. It’s great to have your own site but the cost of marketing it would probably outweigh the cost of fees you pay being on a site like Bandcamp or others.

@bennjordan I don't understand, why artists, in this age of accessible self-promotion, do not simply self-publish their own music, and pay only for a site & hosting, and automate orders and deliveries of mp3 files. The continuation of unnecessary detrimental layers perplexes my brain cell.

I love working with self-taught clients. Especially those who haven’t watched all the “how to eq/compress” tutorials all over YouTube. The most forward thinking and exciting music is made by kids who break all the “rules” and ignore the tutorials. #musicproduction

To make some unique and tasty laser layers, use any morphing plugin to blend ultra tonal source [I used some weird granular chirping from Phaseplant] with real world impulses like gunshots, explosions, kicks/impacts, then destructively process it into submission... #GameAudio
