To help prevent #breastcancer, every woman is encouraged to get screened to better protect herself. #BreastCancerAwareness is gaining ground in Timbuktu and Taoudeni. With the support of UNICEF and the involvement of the regional hospital, the #PinkOctober event brought together more than 300 women and girls, along with authorities, NGOs, and women’s organizations, to promote prevention and screening. The signing of a Wall of Commitment reflects the leaders’ dedication to this cause. Activities continue with free screenings and awareness campaigns on local radio.

Tell me your most vivid memory of the day that you found out about cancer. After the dx call, it took me an hour to figure out how to leave my house and walk to work to tell them I couldn’t come into the office. I never learned the appropriate email for the situation.
