@TopherSpiro Also, "peer review" should be done by a medical professional in the same specialty. Why should podiatrist determine if a hysterectomy is medically necessary?
English

It's time to end prior authorization by insurance company bureaucrats. To better manage care, we need:
* targeted, independent review by clinicians for the most costly services
* guided by evidence-based guidelines - not arbitrary
* strict 48-hour deadline
* exempt routine, emergency care

@Akamamom Definitely not alone. Mind you, I spend most if my work time alone in my office.

Do you ever just feel unlovable? Like you’ve become so prickly and touchy that you repel everyone from you? Maybe as a coping mechanism?
Just kind of feeling like a jumping cholla today. #iykyk
Not posting this for people to say nice things. Just making sure I’m not alone.

@camillerrivera @TopherSpiro My mom was just put on bloodthinners. The first prescription included 5 days of double doses. It took 2 weeks for the pharmacy to get approval from her insurance company. The blood clot is in her jugular, so nothing to worry about/s

The real reason I was so sick for 2 weeks and what lead to my hospitalization was that my insurance company denied my coverage for my new medication for two months. Leaving me getting sicker and sicker. This should be a campaign issue.

🚨🚨 BREAKING: The Center for American Progress calls for an end to health care denials by insurance company bureaucrats.

@wine_018 Unbelievable! When I started working in the industry in the 90s, it was standard protocol to check ID before giving any information, let alone a room key!
And then people complain that they need to show ID to prove they're on the reservation. This is why!

A woman gets sexually assaulted in her hotel bed while she's literally asleep.
Some random dude strolls up to Travelodge reception at 2am, drops her name, claims "I'm her boyfriend," and they just... hand him her room number and a key card. No call to the room. No ID check. No "hey, does she know you're coming?" Nothing.
She wakes up to the nightmare. He gets convicted.
And now, in 2026, Travelodge has to announce a shiny new policy:
Staff must actually get explicit consent from the actual guest before giving anyone else access to their room.
Let that sink in.
This wasn't some high-tech security failure. This was "don't hand strangers the key to a sleeping woman's private room" needing to be written down as official rules because it apparently wasn't before.

Yup
It’s real. Round thing, left side.
I had to stretch to find it with my toe because I’m short.

This one is beyond me even, born in 1979 and never even heard of this. It’s real?
