The last week in April has me not excited at the idea of putting corn in the ground. April 25-26-27 in 2017 we’re the wrong days to plant corn here. Replanted 300ac June 1 because of pythium cool and rain on young corn what you all doing?

Many do not realize how many farmsteads have been lost over the last 70 years in the Midwest.
To determine the change, I mapped out the locations of farmsteads that existed in the 1950's for my SC IA township using the Iowa Geographic Map Server. ortho.gis.iastate.edu (1/5)

What if we are heading down a path where all the big Ag companies and trading firms will have access to our data (planted acres, yields, etc) through the technology on our machines except farmers. Farmers will be the only ones left in the dark. Just thinking out loud. Joe sees this also 👇

NASS @usda_nass is a small group of statisticians. They're good people. They have a tough job. Big Ag is much more nefarious. I think lots of people have it backwards.

@UCBearcat92 Think it really varies by area. Quite a bit of growth here. So, I'd guess development goes crazy. Would help end the 1031 cycle, though.

@brenemanma Initially tons. Then when the flood hits many will find they would have been better off to sell at today’s price and pay the tax. The supply constraint will be removed and it will overwhelm demand.

@Indyfarmer @GrainStats I have a hard time seeing it get done. If manufacturers make as much off repairs as some on here make it seem there's gonna be a good bit of pushback from big equipment.
