@port27500 @Tinebobagain Why ? I work and have a private pension which my employer pay 9% and I pay 10% So why cant they do the same ? Oh because they are promised a final salary pension which far exceeds what private pensions can offer unless you put shit loads in.

@brian_kodi @Tinebobagain Of course they get state pensions, as they pay their NI contributions so are eligible like everyone else. If you want to reduce employer contributions to the public sector, you'll need to accept that public sector pay will need to rise significantly to compensate.

Why are none of the people screaming about the state pension, mentioning the public sector pensions? Massive amounts of money, and these people get two dips in the public purse. Why aren’t they being mentioned?

@miriam_cates Oh I get it now - people like Miriam are paid for by Labour to try and divide the population before May elections by spewing hatred and hope that the youngsters will associate it with reform ! PAID FOR LABOUR BOT and probably with our tax money !

Opponents of non-means tested state pension claim that those who paid tax during their working lives are entitled to this state handout. But by that logic, wealthy working age taxpayers should be allowed to claim Universal Credit. The welfare state is based on high earners paying a lot of tax while not being entitled to benefits. Why should this only apply to under the 67s?
Miriam Cates@miriam_cates

“Reform’s commitment to keep the triple lock is the final nail in the coffin for the hope of pension reform from the Right. Britain’s young people are now condemned to pay through the nose for the retirement of the wealthiest generation in history.” ✍️👇 conservativehome.com/2026/04/08/mir…

They also fail to check facts, before the spout rubbish. When i bought my house the mortgage rate was 15%, everything we had was second hand, no carpets, no washing machine, hand washing nappys in the sink. We got on with it, and did not look for scapegoats. So they can do one.
El Cid@2LivesCid

It’s obvious to me that the recent attacks on pensioners receiving state pension by the younger generations is simply because they’re too thick and lazy to get off their asses and make something of themselves. They expect everything given to them. Scroungy useless bastards.

@helloKi30596224 Your neighbours just posted that their neighbour has blue hair, nose piercings, cries about boomers and pensions, has multiple pronouns and have just bought their 4th Starbucks of the day and can't afford to but a house.

I live nextdoor to a pair of Reform voters. They are a pair of the unhappiest, most unpopular and least successful people I have ever met. I'm not sure how thay expect Reform to improve their lives.

There are boomers sitting in large houses who don’t even want to free up equity or sell their house to help their own children get on the ladder. This is the level of selfishness we are dealing with. Thank god for parents like my mother She would sell her house in Tottenham tomorrow if it meant helping me…. And I would do anything to make her life comfortable- that’s what family is about. An eco system of giving. These days many boomers don’t want to help with grandchildren or finacial assistance and children don’t want to help their parents - so much selfishness between recent generations and it will get worse.

A super easy place to start with pension reform. If you get a public sector pension above £20,000 per annum you lose your state pension. This is easy for the Gov to track and should be phased in gradually so it's £20k for 2040.

@GBNEWS Most cars maximum efficiency occurs at around 56mph. The further away from that you go, the worse the MPG will be. So if you travel at 20MPH instead of 30MPH you will use MORE fuel.

We need more energy independence! Rooftop solar where excess can be added to your car or the grid makes sense!!! tech.referrals.octopus.energy/uVlzFUPg

Labour MPs just voted to expand free school meals to half a million more children, lifting 100,000 children out of poverty. The Tories and Reform UK voted against. Only Labour will give children growing up in our country the best start in life.
