The whole system covering homicide abroad needs looking at, and laws need to be put in place. The memorandums of understanding and a victims’ ‘checklist’ are insulting, and they only add to families’ distress."
Claire Waxman OBE@voice4victims

The Victim Contact Scheme exists for a reason. Victims & bereaved families should never learn distressing new information through media. For Conner’s family, this has caused real distress. As Govt consults on the Victims’ Code, communication must be timely and trauma-informed

It’s now 40 years since this quite brilliant episode of Yes, Prime Minister was broadcast but somehow it still seems remarkably appropriate after all this time! One of the best comedy series ever and superbly acted.

Thanks to Trustees @MurderedAbroad the Gov has listened Trustees & members & issued a plain English updated guide for those suffering homicide abroad . With a new @VictimsComm and the MOJ indicating they are at last listening to us 2026 does look hopeful #ghcws1229.0" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">theyworkforyou.com/wms/?id=2026-0…

@CeliaRichards0n Sadly @CeliaRichards0n no time today to sample scones at Mottisfont ( we pass and visit regularly throughout the year ) but we did get time to visit the Cinderella display. Fantastic and what was just as enjoyable were the engaging and happy volunteers - keep up the good work

I think I can say I am as big a fan of iconic British baked goods as the next woman. But I balk at finding, via a trail of remnants, that 19 yo son has eaten a Greggs Steak Bake in the bath this evening.

For anyone who follows the fortunes of National Trust scones, I have news. This year the Trust sold so many of the plucky British treats that, end to end, they’d stretch one & a half times across Hadrian’s Wall. They’ve been accused of secret wokism & more, but they endure 🇬🇧

@MrSimonDudley Couldn’t agree more Simon Not sure about Sir Rory if honest but others I can think of should receive recognition Many those that work on behalf of others in the charity sector

Yet again the New Years Honours list disappoints . I’m sure there some deserving names but still too many in my view who are well paid and doing their jobs + plus they get an honour whist many in the minority charity sector are ignored @JoshReynoldsSL6 year after year

Whilst attending the service at St Martins in the Fields on Saturday it is a supportive gathering as we all have something in common HOMICIDE but some of us standout because we have suffered homicide abroad and we are treated poorly by our own government. Without the steadfast

@AlexDaviesJones Justice is long overdue We need legislation change to give victims of @MurderedAbroad legal rights - not memorandums of understanding The pain has gone on long enough We need help and justice now
