The Victims & Courts Bill was in the Lords yesterday. Encouraging progress for the long-standing campaigns of @TraceyHansonLdn on the ULS scheme, @OpenJustice4All and @MurderedAbroad. Thanks to Peers across the House pushing to improve support and information for victims.

The Victim Contact Scheme exists for a reason. Victims & bereaved families should never learn distressing new information through media. For Conner’s family, this has caused real distress. As Govt consults on the Victims’ Code, communication must be timely and trauma-informed

Thanks to Trustees @MurderedAbroad the Gov has listened Trustees & members & issued a plain English updated guide for those suffering homicide abroad . With a new @VictimsComm and the MOJ indicating they are at last listening to us 2026 does look hopeful

For anyone who follows the fortunes of National Trust scones, I have news. This year the Trust sold so many of the plucky British treats that, end to end, they’d stretch one & a half times across Hadrian’s Wall. They’ve been accused of secret wokism & more, but they endure 🇬🇧
