They called him unqualified. They said he didn’t have the experience. He wasn’t a high enough rank. They said Trump only picked him because he was on FOX. They were wrong. ALL of them. That man, Pete Hegseth. They failed to tell you he had Ivy League school education. They fail to tell you how he was accepted to West Point but declined and went to Princeton University instead. Right now I don’t give a rats ass what they have to say. Pete Hegseth may go down as one of the best leaders the Dept of War has ever had. Since Hegseth arrived on the scene on day one he returned masculinity and toughness in our military. He ended everything DEI and woke. Men no longer were allowed to dress up like women. He returned discipline through the ranks and restored American might. I’ve never been more proud of our military and we owe Pete Hegseth a giant thank you for returning our military as the clear cut number one world power that we always were before liberal Democrats tried to throw it all away for DEI and woke policies. Strong leadership starts at the top and there will never be a stronger leader than President Trump. Trump chose Pete Hegseth and to say he’s been impressive is an all time understatement. He had our military ready on day one. Putting like a well oiled machine. His mastery and precision couldn’t be more evident as when he went into Iran, took out their nuclear operations, by dropping bombs with pinpoint accuracy, destroying everything underground, then leaving before they even knew what hit them, all while losing no American lives. After such perfection, Hegseth outdid himself when he went into Venezuela, took Maduro and his wife, all while Cuba was on guard protecting Maduro as well as China having military personnel there. He not only went into, grabbed Maduro and wife, but our military showed why our technology is the best in the world. He had our military disable the best technology China had also protecting Maduro, and showed the world, no one fucks with the American military. Once again, we went in, grabbed the prize and we were gone on an instant opening up many eyes in the world. Who was most impressed? China and Russia It didn’t end there. We tried playing nice with Iran. We pleaded for a deal. Iran spent everything trying to rebuild what we destroyed. The Iran people starving, desperately pleaded by protesting with their leaders. What did their leaders do? They went and massacred 35,000 of it own people. The U.S. once again brought them to the table but Trump had enough. Enough stalling, enough of the games. Once Trump knew they weren’t interested in making any deals, he once again called on his Secretary of War, Hegseth and Pete followed with the combined help from Israel and opened up a can of whoop ass that has never been seen before. In only one week, Irans navy was decimated, their air force decimated, much of their artillery and rocket launchers decimated. Again, crisp, clean, precise and the country that is the most feared in the Middle East is on the brink of defeat. All their leaders are dead and once our military finishes the job, hopefully the Middle East will be a much more stable region. Hopefully the people will enjoy their freedoms without the fear of being executed. With all going on, with all the hate coming from the Democrats and RINOs, all their negative press, with all the fake MAGA supporters throwing shade on everything the United States just accomplished, this will be remembered on the history books as one of the most impressive, successful military this great country has ever seen. All under the watch of the greatest President in our history led by the greatest leader of the Dept or War this country has ever seen. Pete Hegseth. I know you’ve been through hell and back from all the scrutiny you’ve received on a daily basis, but I want to thank you along with most of the country for keeping us all safe from a country that vowed Death to America. God Bless. My two cents

By 5pm tonight we're going to get some indication of what happens between Cornyn and Paxton. Probably sooner. Here's my dream scenario: -Cornyn drops out -Trump fires Pam Bondi -Trump nominates Cornyn to AG & endorses Paxton It would save the party millions & unite the base.

I am opposed to this War. This is not “America First.” When Congress reconvenes, I will work with @RepRoKhanna to force a Congressional vote on war with Iran. The Constitution requires a vote, and your Representative needs to be on record as opposing or supporting this war.

Meanwhile, Iran is poised to fight the US on US soil as their sleeper cells that have been building and preparing for years here take out the electrical grid and internet, water systems and banking, plunging wide swaths of America into freezing darkness and chaos that no Carrier fleet can fix.

The USS Gerald R. Ford is not parked near Iran. It is parked off Israel. And nobody is asking the only question that matters: why. The $13.3 billion crown jewel of the US Navy, the largest warship ever constructed, just positioned itself off Haifa. Not in the Arabian Sea where the Lincoln sits 850 kilometers from Iranian shores loaded for offensive operations. Not in the Gulf where strike range is optimal. Off Israel. Defending Israel. This is not redundancy. This is architecture. Two carriers. Two missions. Two entirely different strategic functions. The Lincoln is the sword, positioned to launch strike packages into Iranian airspace within hours of an order. The Ford is the shield, its Aegis missile defense systems creating an umbrella over Israeli population centers against the retaliation that follows the first Tomahawk. America just split its carrier doctrine into offense and defense simultaneously. That has not happened since the Pacific theater in 1945. But the positioning reveals something deeper than tactics. When Iran retaliates, and every wargame says Iran retaliates, its missiles and drones fly toward Israel. They will fly through the same airspace where a US carrier strike group is now stationed. Every Iranian missile aimed at Tel Aviv or Haifa must traverse the Ford’s defensive envelope. Shooting at Israel means shooting at, around, and through an American carrier group. Iran cannot retaliate against Israel without engaging American naval assets. The Ford’s position makes that physically impossible. The carrier is not defending Israel as a favor. It is positioned so that any Iranian response to American strikes automatically becomes an attack on American forces, triggering the full unrestrained weight of US military response without a single additional political decision required. This is escalation insurance written in steel and seawater. If the campaign goes longer than planned, if munitions run thin in 7 to 10 days, if allies hesitate, the Ford’s position ensures that Iranian retaliation does the political work Washington cannot do alone: it transforms a limited American strike into an act of self-defense that no ally can refuse to support. You do not park a $13.3 billion carrier where the enemy’s return fire will hit it unless you want the enemy’s return fire to hit it. The Ford is not there to prevent escalation. The Ford is there to guarantee that if escalation comes, it comes on terms that make American restraint politically impossible and allied participation politically unavoidable. open.substack.com/pub/shanakaans…

In case you didn’t know, Pam Bondi reported $203,708 in income between the years 2021-2025 through the law firm Panza, Mauer, and Maynyard and the ONLY client that Pam Bondi listed she represented was Pfizer. Just days into her role as Attorney General, she cancelled three enforcement actions against Pfizer who had been under investigation for corrupt business practices in Mexico and China. The corruption and conflicts of interest are endless, folks.

On the VA disability discussion. I've been on active duty for nearly 15 years. I've spent about 10 years on airborne status, graduated from Ranger school, completed special operations selection and assessment twice, served for 8 years in SOF, deployed to combat 5 times, more work ups, jumps, long range movements, weeks on reverse cycle, hours/days/weeks/months under nods than I can count. Hundreds (thousands?) of breaching charges, mortars, cannons, controlled detonations, Carl Gs, bangers, thermos, frags, and the like. I'm worn out but I'm ok. I ignored and lied about pain and sleep for years so I could keep doing the job. Annual PHA? Good to go, Doc! Send me! I'm finally in a job where I can take care of myself. It still feels like quitting to accept a referral and get checked out. Many of my peers are still in the fight. Many of my dudes got hurt for real. But, at my wife's insistence, I'm slowly but surely making appointments for the bumps and bruises - the wear and tear of a Soldiers' life. After ignoring a spot for a year or more I finally got it checked out last year. Skin cancer. Lucky it was the not-that-bad kind. Surgery. Gnarly scar. I'm fine. Got an MRI on my neck last week. I've had debilitating pain and mobility loss in my neck and down my shoulder/arm for years, it started when I tweaked it in Iraq in 2016. My doc said I have the neck of a 55 year old man. I'm in my mid thirties. Degeneration, arthritis, spurs, nerve canal is pinched and causing the pain down my right side. I'm fine. It hurts, but I'm fine. Surgery is an option. I won't take it. Pain management is an option. I'm not going down the opioid trap. So... physical therapy and continue mission. Knee is next on the list. It hurts but I'm fine. I don't sleep much, but I'm probably fine. I'm fine. I've never considered VA benefits. My calculus for not getting checked out sooner was to continue doing the job I love. I'm getting checked out now because I've promoted out of the job, my wife wants to grow old with me, and I want to meet my grandchildren. Do I deserve compensation for getting to do the job I love all those years? Hardly. Am I entitled to it? Entitled is an easy word to hate. Yet retirement approaches, and with it the decision to file or not file a VA claim. I'm inclined to pass. My wife disagrees. Not sure where I'll land. I suspect most of us are like me. We're fine. It hurts but we're fine. So what, if anything, does a nation "owe" a bunch of dudes who did the job as asked and got a bit banged up as expected? It's a tough question that I have trouble answering. You'll notice that often it's the dudes perhaps most deserving on paper who are least likely to advocate for themselves. Just writing that sentence hurts. We should probably take care of the boys. Especially the ones saying they're just fine.

Got truck serviced. All 4 tire sensors not working. Repair cost $665. Or just leave it and simply check tire pressure with a pressure gauge people used for decades. A nearly $700 "repair" just to make a warning light go away. Modern vehicles are such a scam.
