@Peasant38532974 @_Zacharyhess @CraigRozniecki Of course. I was simply pointing out that "prices doubling" happens eventually when inflation is greater than 0%, not that we've had inflation far above the reported values--prices would be even more out of control than they are already.

A conversation I had with a Trumper last night...
Him: "I like Mellencamp's music. Sucks he's a stupid liberal Democrat, though."
Me: What's your beef with Democrats?
Him: "Are you a Democrat?"
Me: Yes.
Him: "You need to change your ways."
Me: Why's that?
Him: "You actually like Kamala?"
Me: I do.
Him: "You need to change your ways. She's a communist-Marxist-socialist."
Me: Those terms aren't identical. Do you actually know what they mean?
Him: "Yeah"
Me: Okay, what do they mean?
Him: "What about inflation?"
Me: What about it?
Him: "She had 3.5 years to do something about it, and nothing."
Me: That's not true. First off, she's Vice President, not President. Secondly, she broke the Senate tie to pass the Inflation Reduction Act. Not a single Republican voted for it."
Him: "Yeah, inflation"
Me: Inflation was 9.1% and is 2.9% today.
Him: "That's bullshit. Look it up. Look it up."
Me: :: I look it up ::. Here you are. These are the inflation numbers. June of 2022, it was at 9.1%. In the latest report, it was 2.9%. Those are facts.
Him: "Fake numbers. That's bullshit. What is that, a fake news site?"
Me: It's the U.S. Bureau of Labor.
Him: "Whatever"

@PhilW_SF @FishOfPrey @StackSalesforce I don't disagree with that. There are likely millions of lines of unnecessary code simply because it's not well documented.
English

@brianmfear @FishOfPrey @StackSalesforce I have never seen null returned either, but I think there should be a specification of behaviour for all APIs, including edge cases, and this aspect for SOQL/SOSL in Apex came up in a LinkedIn thread.
English

@FishOfPrey I was looking for official documentation around static and dynamic SOQL results, specifically showing that a null value (null list) is never returned. Can you help me here?
English

@PhilW_SF @FishOfPrey Actually, to that point... why not ask us on @StackSalesforce? I'd love to know more.
English

@PhilW_SF @FishOfPrey I don't think there's docs that call this out explicitly. However, in the 17 years of Apex, I've never seen a null object returned as the result of a query, nor a null element in the list that is returned. Do you have an example?

If anyone has a moment, I have a GACK trying to enter a default approval.
Instance: USA544
Org: 00DHp000002LlkQ
Gack: 1504280880-265010 (1325431066)
Thanks for your time!
English

@brianmfear @ca_peterson @FishOfPrey I just shared the GACK details via your DM. Suggest raising a support ticket.
English

@ca_peterson @FishOfPrey If either of you have a moment, could you look up 1592020811-192350 (5922459008) on org 00D1U000000roNT (USA478)? Getting this while trying to run a Process Builder.
English

@kranzforce @ca_peterson @FishOfPrey The properties are already there, just marked private. Many other types of properties were exposed, such as DescribeSObjectResult, DescribeFieldResult, SaveResult, etc. This one seems to be more the exception than the rule.
English

@brianmfear @ca_peterson @FishOfPrey Fair enough!
Fun fact: starting August 5, I'll be joining Salesforce as the Flow Product Manager for Invocable Actions- feel free to tag me into any and all feedback like this!
Also agree with @FishOfPrey that changes like this would need to be carefully considered.
English

@ca_peterson @FishOfPrey
Remember when Apex exposed properties like errors and success on Database.SaveResult, etc? Someone forgot to make them public for Invocable.Action.Result.

English

@FishOfPrey @kranzforce @ca_peterson DML Result was only one example. Describes do this, too:
PicklistEntry[] values = sObjectType.Account.fields.Industry.picklistValues;
It seems that these properties popped up all over the place... Except Invocable.Action.Result.
English

@brianmfear @kranzforce @ca_peterson I concur that consistency is good. Although retroactively making these consistent with the DML *Result classes may cause more harm than good. E.g. the Invocable.Action.Error class has different methods as well.
English

@kranzforce @ca_peterson @FishOfPrey There is. The point is, we can use other result type properties directly, but not Invocable.Action.Result properties. They should all be equal.
English

@brianmfear @ca_peterson @FishOfPrey on the Invocable.Action.Result class, there should be a `getErrors()` method instead of exposing the errors directly, no?
English

@Shivayadavs2322 @samreynard @ca_peterson @FishOfPrey I already acknowledged that casting is a workaround for the problem.
Note that the Apex compiler knows Id is a String. Try: Assert.isTrue((Id)null instanceOf String);
A Text variable should also know that Id is a String, rather than throwing an error.
English

@brianmfear @samreynard @ca_peterson @FishOfPrey Hello @brianmfear, Can you add this piece of code to your apex snippet
'AccountId' => String.valueOf(record.Id)
This snippet converts the Id to a String, as our Flow accepts a text input value.
Could you try using this code?
English

@samreynard @ca_peterson @FishOfPrey I found what appears to be a bug with Flows. Or Apex. Or something. A text variable cannot accept an Id...? (Casting to String resolves the error). Do I need a case for this?

@SeaneMadge @Kevin6887879471 @TheThe1776 That's the most hilarious thing I think I've ever heard. You should be a conservative comedian. You'd fit right in.
English

@brianmfear @Kevin6887879471 @TheThe1776 You're a prime example of eyes wide shut.
Or a typical Democrat trying to keep his blacks on the plantation.
Either way, you are a menace to society.
English

This man did an excellent job on breaking down FACTS in a clear and understandable timeline of the Republican Party vs the Democratic Party and Black Americans.
There is no doubt that the Republican Party has its issues, but the Republican has a POSITIVE history that has better ALL Americans while the Democrats will pander to minorities using Race to DIVIDE Americans.
English

@igh9275 @BridgetPhetasy Paperwork gets damaged, lost, destroyed all the time. Papers can be incorrectly filed, causing major problems. It took my partner 2 years, 3k+ miles of travel, and multiple court filings to fix such a mistake and finally get her photo ID. It's not easy for everyone to get an ID.
English

@brianmfear @BridgetPhetasy Every U.S. citizen can prove they’re a citizen. The act shouldn’t catch anyone, you should have proof or citizenship already or can get one very easily. Nothing is stopping illegals from voting.
English

@MagicalMar55 @Kevin6887879471 @TheThe1776 They've done a lot. What about the Republican party? What are their plans to help minorities in 2025? Provide page numbers from the following book:

@BobGrosfield @KristiNoem If Florida allowed ex-convicts to vote, it'd be blue. The disenfranchisement is real.
English

@KristiNoem And that’s why the elections there are free and fair. Just like Florida, when the elections are fair the come out 60-40 conservative. Those are the real numbers. Must stop voter fraud that was rampant in 2020.
