While we're discussing wildlife overpasses, let's discuss why they're important: They prevent ~97% of wildlife collisions They singlehandedly save wildlife populations (and migration patterns) They can save our country $10B per year BUT...they (should) cost $5-15M, not $100M

@icpolicy @BenjiBacker You’re missing the forest for the trees here dude. Roads don’t stop animal migration. Which is why these are needed. Fences stop animal migration for the most part, but that’s damaging to the animals overall. That’s why these are built.

@BenjiBacker Bullshit. FENCES prevent 97% of wildlife collisions. Every study suggesting overpasses prevent collisions are ACTUALLY measuring the roadway fences built as part of the project. You can build the fences without the expensive overpass for essentially the same effect.
