@BiasedHouston This topic requires nuance. Both ideas are true. The East IS weak AND 2018 LeBron touched a level of basketball dominance that was at that point not really seen outside of perhaps prime Wilt, prime MJ, and perhaps 2016 Steph. When you combine both ideas, you get that 2018 run.

@HPbasketball Guys like Dray, Iggy, KD, and Butler were adept connectors and could facilitate sparingly, Butler certainly the closest to being a true playmaker in his own right. But when you needed an elite pass or a play created out of nothing, it was always Steph.

@HPbasketball True passing-playmaking ability + his defense breaking gravity. He was an on ball point guard before Steve Kerr’s motion offense which distributes touches and assists to everyone equally and had Steph shift into a hybrid point guard/shooting guard role.

What precisely makes Steph Curry considered a point guard instead of a shooting guard? Wade, Harden, Kobe, Jordan all brought the ball up the floor, so it can't be that.
