Yesterday, @FBIDirectorKash told me he'd take the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test if I did. Well, here's mine.   Given all the lies he told yesterday, I imagine he'll fudge the numbers here, but let's see yours, Director Patel.

On May 2, while in Florida, White House officials told the press traveling with him that Trump went to the dentist then for “a scheduled dental appointment at his local dentist in Florida."

For June, I want to recommend films directed by women, but I don’t want to be glib about it. If anything, I want to discover more. I’ve already got the Catherine Breillat and Sofia Coppola dialled in. Coralie Fargeat. Kathryn Bigelow. Celine Song. Lynne Ramsay. Who else? Help.

@TexasMonthly Crazy idea for top-tier musicians: Do more small, intimate, affordable shows similar to this. Everyone will have fun.

This wasn’t a big production. There were no elaborate set pieces or costume changes, or any of the other bells and whistles that accompanied Kacey Musgraves’s world tours. This was just a great singer, a great band, and an intimate crowd of fans stomping their boots and sending impassioned gritos and whistles toward the stage. texasmonthly.com/culture/kacey-…

Saw The Princess Bride again last night at the @netflix is a joke screening hosted by my brother @Cary_Elwes. Firstly I hadn’t seen it for at least 10 years and it really holds up. And secondly if you get a chance to see my brother talking about it live , run to it. Cary was absolutely hilarious and his stories are gold.

With all the talk of mergers and with every other movie being a reboot, sequel, or superhero movie, it feels like the right time to announce I'm producing a new movie. It's a throwback to the kind of comedies I grew up with and miss. An indie the vein of This is Spinal Tap and Monty Python. It's called ROGER WODEHOUSE'S ANDROGYMNASIUM. It's also co-written by and starring my genius brother in law. It's about a glam rocker in the 1970's who gets asked to host a BBC children's show, only to have it cancelled after the first three episodes. We're raising our tiny budget on WeFunder, which means YOU can invest. This isn't a Kickstarter, we aren't asking for money in exchange for a t-shirt or credit, you can own part of the film for as low as $100 (but we'd LOVE for you to give much, much more). And we've already raised over $100K. Will it make money? Movies are hard but I will say we already have a stacked cast (stars of What We Do in the Shadows and Seinfeld, to name a few), a full soundtrack (another revenue stream!), and an incredibly talented team (director who has done shows on FX, crazy talented writers, etc). In fact, we released a music video today to go with it. It's also going to shoot in LA. Which feels important. Lastly, it's 2026. If you can't invest in a weird comedy right now, I get it. You know what's free? Supporting original art with a share. Consider RT/QT'ing this or sending it directly to someone you think may be into it. LINK: wefunder.com/rogerwodehouse FIN.

@spyderdobro It’s often the only way to display any wins/progress for your projects because much of a screenwriter’s career occurs in a vacuum.

What's the number one reason screenwriters should be on social media vs. getting off the apps, living and writing your stories and emailing them?

The Spirit Airlines bail out is not socialism. It would be socialism if we received free airplane tickets on Spirit Airlines in exchange for the government bail out. ……Instead, this is the use of taxpayer money to pay off corporate executives who have already received untold compensation, so they can continue to enrich themselves at our expense while exploiting the government to perpetuate their business.
