Every time Amazon raises the bar on seller requirements, casual sellers drop out. Every time casual sellers drop out, margins improve for the rest of us. The commingled inventory deadline is going to thin the herd again.

I don’t believe he’s a great man based on the choice Herbert presents. It’s clearly an impossible choice, yes. But he’s willing to use his power to effect genocide on a galactic level out of what starts initially as an aristocratic family revenge tale. No different to me than the path Hitler would take if presented with the same choice. I agree he’s an extremely interesting character. The fact that I feel that way is probably a deliberate cautionary tale by Herbert.

Dune 2 sucked. Villanueve ruined Paul and Chanis relationship on purpose because he hated the idea of a Great Man with godly power and loyal woman who believes him. Stripped it all out in favor of scowling and cynicism Dune 3 will also be BS (pretty visuals aside)

He is a great man worth the fanatical following. He gets the power, sees either the jihad coming, or the destruction of his family and people. He chooses the jihad and he chooses to lean into his power. Sure this makes him “bad” but given the same choice how many make the personal sacrifice? I think this is what makes him such an interesting character

I've started over 75 businesses. Most of them have failed or been abandoned. I've lost a lot of money, but I've never lost experience. Here are a few of my "losses". 2010: Student online textbook marketplace "Text Book Crook - We steal the competition" Grew FAST by typing an ad & hitting "reply all" on a mass email my college sent to all 30k students without BCC (lol). Had my 1st kid & quit for something better $500 loss + 2 months PT work 2015: The "Uber for home cleaning." lol Story: Focused on partnering with realtors to clean homes for listing. Tons of demand, hot market. Managing cleaners & jobs was a nightmare. Hated life & abandoned $5k loss and 3 months of PT work 2016: Bought a popular Christian blog Story: The founders turned atheist & bait and switched readers with anti content 1 year in. It angered me so I bought the site & deleted the anti stuff. Hired writers & revived it. Then I lost steam & moved on $10k loss + 6 months PT work 2016: Idea: Concierge car buying service "Presto Cars." Flat $750 fee to buy cars at auction Story: Spent 2 months getting a TX dealer's license. Red tape. Learned the auctions. Sold 15-20 cars & hated life. Not fun, quit Net result: $3k total profit & 4 months of FT work 2017: Real estate Story: Partnered with a couple bad dudes. Built something amazing & profitable. One dude got greedy and torpedoed the whole thing at the worst possible moment. Went up in flames $60k net cash loss and way too long of FT/PT work 2018: Sector: Crypto Idea: Free airdropped token & paid community Story: Blew up fast & then the bear market wore us down. Peak was 8 fig market cap & 80k users. Wound it down & sold for pennies on the dollar Net result: About $130k for 15 months of FT work. Lots of fun 2018: Grass fed beef by the 1/4 cow, shipped. "Quarter Cows" Story: Raised 4 cows on my back 2 suburban acres to learn. Many hilarities ensued. Tons of demand, very profitable, hated life. Abandoned it. Net result: $5-8k loss and 6 months PT work. A few delicious freezer filets --- There are so many more. Opportunity cost is real. If you hate it and/or don't see the promise, just move on. Assuming you have something better to move on to. I always did. Keep your losses small and your wins big.

Been experimenting with Claude Cowork and it's saved me so much time with RA receipts I used to scan receipts and manually enter buy cost, store, item, etc into a spreadsheet Now Claude goes through my folder every week and does it for me. Still need double check everything but it's cut my admin time way down
