After living in Scottsdale, Arizona for a decade, my husband and I moved our 3 homeschooled kids to rural Indiana. We purchased a 48 acre, previously Amish, homestead July of ‘24. Here’s our adventures in this new life!

@musings_blonde Nope- take the metal mattress support out and drop the mattress down to the floor so it’s lower and baby can’t climb out anymore

My sister’s 1-year-old is climbing out of the crib 😅 Her dad is ready to switch to a toddler bed, but my sister thinks it’s too soon. When did your kids make the transition? Any advice?

Where are we keeping our blankets? I’ve gotten rid of a bunch, but where do I keep the rest? My closets are full. We have very limited storage, split foyer style. Bins? Basement?

@MtGardenMama And anymore, there’s a lot of statistics on how homeschooled kids compare academically to public and privately schooled kids, and they almost universally win in every study.

It’s kinda funny when someone tries to say that homeschooling is not a good way to educate your kids but then can’t even formulate a valid argument as to why they believe that. Proves a point.

@nienna121 But I know you’re referencing the TT post which I applaud because their post is a load of bull also. Birth is painful but also that’s okay. We can just accept that.

@nienna121 Not to be that person, but to spread awareness-false. They failed 5x on me to get one, I gave birth naturally, and it left me with severe spinal fluid leaks that required me to be readmitted to the hospital TWICE in the days after initial discharge. Epidural = huge mistake for me

It’s possible to simply choose to have a pain free birth when you get an epidural every time 😌

@smalltown_wife This is the kind of talk that will screw over first time moms aiming for unmedicated. They think they can just tell themselves it isn’t painful, and then when the real pain hits they’ll have no idea how to manage it. It IS painful..That’s okay though and you can manage that pain

most women experience pain in childbirth. the Bible literally said this would be the case. most women say it’s painful because it IS. that of course does not mean it’s not worth it! but there’s no “allowing yourself not to feel it” when it comes to legitimate pain, lmao. has this person ever even given birth 😂
Tallow Twins | Skincare@Tallowtwins

A conversation worth sharing regarding pain during childbirth, between my birth client and myself. We are told that is awful, gruesome, gross, and painful, so that is what the societal norm belief. But what if you took responsibility for the things you will allow yourself to feel, rather than going with the flow of a damaged society that has allowed birth to become regulated and colonized. Birth is sacred, birth is physiological, and women are built to birth.

Spring has sprung here! In addition to working on producing food with animals, we’ve done a lot of planting! Apple, pear, peach, plum, pawpaw, elderberry, raspberry, blueberry, and grapes are all growing on our property now!

BABY ROSEANNE UPDATE Roseanne‘s dad just called to give me a complete update. Covenant Hospital transferred Roseanne to U of M Lansing. They were able to stabilize her, but there is no surgeon there that can do the surgery. They taught the parents how to do bowel irrigations every six hours and they will be discharged today to home on that schedule. She is then scheduled for an appointment next Wednesday at U of M in Ann Arbor. The only surgeon in this region that does the surgery is at U of M in Ann Arbor. Why she wasn’t transferred there to begin with I don’t know. Ann Arbor may have not had any pediatric beds available at the time. Next Wednesday when they have their appointment in Ann Arbor, they should get a date for surgery. It did take them a couple days to stabilize her because she had persistant vomiting. I am glad that Roseanne is doing well. I’m sure you can see by this story that things have not gone as they should have. The very first time they went to the emergency room at Covenant and got the diagnosis they should have been referred right at that moment to university of Michigan in Ann Arbor to a hospital that could do the surgery. I have no idea why no one told these parents that the surgeon at covenant could not do that surgery. That information was never relayed to them until after they arrived in Lansing. They thought they were going to surgery in Lansing and we’re not even told until they had been there over a day that there was no surgeon at the hospital that could do the surgery either. U of M in Lansing did discover that Roseanne has a problem with one of her kidneys too. They will continue to monitor that situation with ultrasounds. Please continue to pray for Roseanne. 🙏🏻

@brittilina Go to the women’s ministry leaders- maybe the same one who didn’t even realize you were pregnant, since they highlights the point- and gently let them know that the disparity between how some small groups have big showers and invite the whole church vs others ends up hurtful

So this is me admitting to envy publicly, but also just feeling sad for missing out on … something. Might delete. At our church, we have a policy of letting small groups handle ministries like baby showers and meal trains and such. The small group I attend didn’t forget me or anything. They gave me a small diaper shower at one of our meetings and set up a meal train for four meals after we got home from the hospital. But it does hurt to see other ladies who were pregnant at the same time as me getting full-on showers with registry gifts (we needed actual baby things again, and $$ is tighter than it was w our 3yo) where the whole church was invited. Just now, the sister of a new mama posted her meal train for the whole church to participate in and it had a solid fourteen meal slots. We went to church with our baby for the first time this week, and one of the leaders of the women’s ministry told me she didn’t even know I was pregnant. Just feels like you have to be popular to get more support, and if you don’t have an advocate or want to toot your own horn, you aren’t as valued as other women. So now I’m midnight-nursing-ugly-crying over here. Don’t mind me. Most ppl don’t. *end self-pity vent* P.S. I had this same feeling with my last baby - the shower situation was exactly the same (our gap then was 5 years, so we had even less baby stuff then). We had more financial wiggle room, but I struggled postpartum and really could have used a robust meal train.

@ashleyschendel Honestly I read once that you need to start planning dinner after breakfast and that has helped me so much.

One thing I have learned running a household is that dinner is not a 5 PM problem. Dinner is a much earlier decision than most people think. If nobody knows what the plan is by midafternoon, the whole evening starts getting more expensive and more annoying. A lot of bad nights are really just delayed decisions.

@siaxares Praying for you all tonight, from America. We are hoping for the evil there to end and the citizens to be able to reclaim their country, as well. Trump doesn’t take the loss of innocent life lightly. I trust he will at least attempt to avoid as much citizen loss as possible

This is a stressful night for all Iranians. My family and I have huddled together, having spent all our money stocking up on non-spoiling necessities. We're now completely out of funds as people are not getting paid. Unsure what the next few hours will bring — but we are as ready as we’ll ever be. Whatever happens, as long as enough of Iran remains to save, we Iranians will rise up and topple this regime. If the electricity goes out, so does our internet. Even my Starlink won’t work then. If that happens, I want to thank @Starlink for being a most welcome light in our darkness. Every single piece of real information that has ever come out of Iran — whether directly or indirectly through VPNs like V2ray that first connect via Starlink — has only been possible because of Starlink. Everything else is just regime propaganda from agents with their special white SIM cards that have unrestricted access. The Islamic Republic worships death and kills its own citizens with impunity. I pray that president Trump delivers on his promise, and that the US and Israel level the playing field so we can finally deal with the regime — without destroying too much of Iran, so there’s still something left to save and rebuild. Trump's words are usually extreme, so I hope "end of a civilization" is just scare tactics. Soon, this nightmare of evil will end. I know it in my heart. #DigitalBlackOutIran#IranMassacre
