@Barclays How am I supposed to open a bank account for my daughter, when we need her to be present for a video call, yet all of the appointments are during the school day? None after 3:30pm. Can you suggest a solution? No appointments available during half term either.

I always get excited about building and developing reading relationships with my new pupils at the start of a school year. Can't wait to hear what they think about reading, which authors and poets they enjoy, what their reading habits are and how they view themselves as a reader.

I find that most problems can be solved by having a good long chat with a friend.

So many arguments about teaching styles but at the end of the day, when a 17yo lad spends his wages from his washing up job and turns up at the school he left 7 years ago because he’s heard you’re retiring, your style, whatever it is, was enough 🥹

Being trauma-informed is not enough. We must also be trauma-responsive and attachment aware. Our classrooms can become sanctuaries of healing,where young people are not punished for their trauma but are instead supported in their journey towards recovery. 🧠🌱
