Miss information ! please. I expect more rhetoric from the CBC ! this takes me back to main stream covid reporting. Us vs the them mentally. Is @realagriculture still a independent news source ? or are you now part of the propaganda wing of the liberals ?

Has anyone used a time recording app. I've been holding off knowing how little I work for an hour, but I think its time

@brushhills I have a dryer in the shop between the compressor and the chute. Have gone as cold as -30 or so. After that I don’t want to work cattle. Have to keep moisture out of the lines.

Touring my massive long-term cover crop trial @RidgetownCampus this morning. The plots with 50 lbs N/ac at cover crop seeding after wheat have been producing approx 2x more biomass than no N applied over the years. This year no different. Photo shows oat cc (N applied in the background, no N in the foreground. Similar results at the Elora sister site managed by @aacorrendo. Cc @WheatPete

The kids wanted to try and round up this pasture with their new e bikes. Whatever keeps them interested. #farmkids

@TKRanch Gathered replacements this morning. Can’t decide if I hope they’re all open, or all pregnant. 🤷‍♂️

Talked to a neighbour this morning he said how stupid is a guy going to feel 2 years from now when cows are worth 1/2 of what they are today and retiring has been on top of mind for years and didn’t sell. We both agreed, very stupid. #marriedtothecows

@TKRanch I keep asking myself what kind of idiot would hold onto a stock/investment that has tripled in value? Makes me wonder how many others are in the same boat and mindset as myself.

Pretty rare for anything to exceed expectations around here….just ask corporate….but we put this coverall up in 2000 and just replaced the cover today, doubled up the posts for a bit of peace of mind and will put boards back on the sides…pretty cheap straw storage.

@TKRanch You couldn’t throw a stick without hitting two young producers that want to get into agriculture. Many factors are preventing that. Barrier to entry is high. Main reason for lack of expansion is lack of pasture and lack of commitment from landlords IMO

I don’t think there is any appetite for new entrants into the cow/calf sector either. If anything this market will encourage the aging cow/calf operator, ave age 58, to cash out while the getting is good, over 1/2 of all U.S. operators eyeing retirement in the next 10 yrs.
Jerod McDaniel@JerodMcDaniel

How many farms are gonna add cattle, specifically cow/calf, to their business plans for 2026? I get the sense when people say they “getting” into cattle, they are saying they’re gonna be a stocker, farmer/feeder, or some variation thereof. I don’t think many want actual cows.

One of my landlord offered me this sweet rig. I’ve already got a a few trailers. Go custom hauling or chicken coop sky’s the limit with this gem. He said when it was parked all the brakes worked 😆 #barnfind

I can cross the buried high pressure pipeline all day with the tractor, combine, semi, seeder, but to cross over, just rolling, with the scraper, I need a permit. I did not know that.
