As Brandon Nimmo raps out another double, I keep thinking about the Rangers-Mets trade. I know there is a long-term financial component for Mets, but from my perspective, he is such an offensive upgrade. Don't know any other way to say it. It's striking.

You have to understand that this is genuinely what even quite ordinary, mainstream liberals believe. Like, I’m talking about just the regular old people in my Facebook feed. They genuinely believe that suburbanites have completely invented the idea that there is a crime problem just because they’re mean, scared, racists. And, meanwhile, rich suburbanites and rural hicks cause all the problems. They really believe this stuff. Like, it’s not an exaggeration or a metaphor. That’s what they think is happening. They think that failing urban schools are because racist suburbanites don’t give those schools enough money. That’s their literal understanding of the world. They think that crime and disorder are overrated, but to the extent that these are real problems, it’s because of how we built the interstate highways 70 years ago. That’s their literal belief. They think that gun crime today is because it was hard to get mortgages in some neighborhoods in the 1960s. Again, this is their literal understanding of cause and effect. You can get mad at Mathew Yglesias or Noah Smith or whoever else online, but understand that the average normie liberal lives on another planet altogether.

This ad spot accidentally captured the essence of how i see the conservative/Repub culture: just act all terrified of everything around you so they won't notice you're the predator.

POTUS is laying out two courses of action—a negotiated settlement, or a major escalation. There is a third option, and he should take it: recognize there is no way to force a positive outcome and simply leave. The region is not ours to fix. President Reagan chose this path in Lebanon in ‘84, withdrawing U.S. forces after the Beirut barracks bombing once it became clear the mission’s stabilization goals could not be met, effectively ending direct American military involvement and avoiding a deeper quagmire and long-term entrenchment in the region. A negotiated settlement is unlikely to work or be taken seriously by the Iranians unless we make concessions on the enrichment issue. As we saw yesterday in the SOH, the IRGC is empowered to act without the consent of the civilian leadership, so it’s likely they won’t honor any deal reached. A major escalation will lead to a very destructive outcome for Iran, the region, and eventually the U.S. If POTUS chooses brute force and targets civilian infrastructure, we will create another generation of radicalized Iranians who will rally around the regime and escalate the war by any means possible. If POTUS opts to strike the civilian infrastructure, declare victory, and then leave, we will only further erode our standing in the world, the petrodollar, and eventually our status as the world’s reserve currency holder. We need to get out now. Don’t double down on failure. Avoid the sunken cost trap, leave now, and put America’s interests first.

Seeing Cam Young’s driver swing right up against everyone else is jarring. The pause is always amazing, but when directly in sequence versus normal swings, the contrast is crazy. Also, love how many different moves there are. Swing your swing!

How on earth can it cost $30 million and three years for the NYC government to build a grocery store in Harlem? There are *dozens* of grocery stores for sale, all over New York City, for less than $5M. Many are less than $1M. This seems like a scam. (or vanity project)

Civilization was built by people like this, and there is a stunning lack of gratitude in our culture for their work. In this specific case, at least half of the apple varieties in Brown’s collection were considered “lost” until he personally tracked them down and saved them. He literally went on quests where he did things like, tracking a lost variety back to a stump of a long-ago-cut-down tree near an abandoned homestead in remote Appalachia, took cuttings from the green shoots coming out of the stump, brought them back and planted them. Absolute legend.

Simple question- What’s more important to OUR nation: Opening the Straight of Hormuz & bringing stability to the Gulf. Or Funding Israel’s offensive in Lebanon? Israel is the jr partner in this relationship but won’t act like it until we restrict military aid to them.
Nick Sortor@nicksortor

🚨 BREAKING: The Iranian regime has OFFICIALLY announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, citing MASSIVE Israeli attacks inside Lebanon, per AP Welp, that didn’t last long Some of the largest Israeli strikes in Lebanon in recent history have taken place in the last 24 hours, risking the end of the US-Iranian ceasefire.

READ. THE. BILL. BEFORE. YOU. OPEN. YOUR. MOUTH. Calling the DIGNITY Act “amnesty” isn’t just wrong. It’s a deliberate distortion and it exposes just how little you know about the bill. This is enforcement first: zero tolerance for criminals, permanent border security, and hard, earned requirements to step forward and face the law, so American workers are protected, not undercut. Amnesty is the chaos you’ve defended, millions in the shadows, no control, no accountability, and a system that stopped working a long time ago. No shortcuts. No giveaways. No blanket forgiveness. That’s law and order. That’s DIGNITY.
Congressman Brandon Gill@RepBrandonGill

The Dignity Act is mass amnesty and would constitute a terrible betrayal of our voters.

I have studied the Shroud of Turin for years. I may even write a book on the subject. I am utterly convinced it the actual burial shroud of Jesus Christ. I urge everyone to watch documentaries on the subject. The level of scientific evidence is truly astonishing.

BREAKING: DHS confirms to @FoxNews that the suspect charged w/ murdering an innocent gas station clerk in Fort Meyers, FL by bludgeoning her to death with a hammer is a Haitian illegal alien who was caught & released at the border by the Biden admin in 2022. An immigration judge ordered Rolbert Joachim deported from the U.S. later that same year, but DHS says the Biden admin shielded him from deportation by granting him Temporary Protected Status, which expired in 2024. There is an extremely graphic video of the April 3rd killing on social media. Joachim is seen hitting a vehicle with a hammer in the parking lot of the gas station. The clerk comes out to confront him, he walks right at her, and with full strength, he bludgeons her in the head with the hammer. She falls down unconscious and he crushes her head with the hammer 6 more times.  He is now in local custody and ICE has placed a detainer on him. DHS statement to FOX: “This illegal alien barbarically hit this woman in the head multiple times with a hammer. This heinous murderer was RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration. Not only did the Biden administration release him into the country, but they then gave him temporary protected status. Their reckless immigration policies cost this woman her life,” said Acting Assistant DHS Secretary Lauren Bis.
