Lmao, I pity those who try to reason with Nigerians and then take it personally when they aren’t heard. 😂 I’ve rarely encountered a more delusional, misdirected, and irrational group of people anywhere. Yes, we often say we should embrace a plurality of ideas, that truth exists on a spectrum and people can occupy different points along it. But many Nigerians hold beliefs that are completely ungrounded; they cling to nonsense without even understanding why they believe it. And when you try to break things down and point out these inconsistencies, they react defensively, it’s almost like a deeply ignorant person getting angry at someone more informed for refusing to validate their ignorance. So I can empathize with people like David. Even though I don’t always agree with everything he does, I understand much of his frustration and actions. It’s incredibly isolating to feel like you’re surrounded by people who refuse to think critically. 😂 And here’s the unsettling part; you’d expect there to be some eventual reckoning, a moment when people outgrow their ignorance and become more enlightened. But that moment often never comes. Many will live and die holding onto these misguided beliefs, convinced they’re true. It’s quite sad.
