BEFORE it "works" vs AFTER it "works" Behind every million dollar idea is a million haters. There is no exception to this rule. Tune them out and win.

For sure, there are some startups YC invests in that I personally would not write checks for. I'm not a big fan of gambling companies. It doesn't do anything for me. My question is, people have different standards for what they consider morally questionable. Do you mean from a business practice standpoint or from an ideation standpoint?

how much time ya got? TLDR my beef centers around YC’s indifference to morally questionable startups and the fact that their business structure gives them systemic plausible deniability ps i only come in super hot unless im in the cold plunge at the standard

@swagt0shi My guy, what is your beef with YC? You're coming in super hot.

social media has become performative. your friends rarely show up on your instagram or tiktok feed anymore. their posts are buried behind brainrot, ai slop, and content from strangers engineered to keep you scrolling as long as possible. but why would instagram or tiktok change? they make more money this way. the problem is that social media used to be the place you went to keep up with friends. early instagram was casual. early snapchat was casual. posting wasn’t this whole performance-based ritual where you had to think about likes, comments, timing, aesthetics, and what everyone would think. but slowly, over years, that changed. and algorithmic feeds accelerated it. i’m betting big on one thing: people don’t just want more content. they want less performative ways to stay connected with their friends again. bereal proved this. it had a massive surge because it gave people a simple, fun, low-pressure way to connect with friends every day. it had its flaws. the loop got stale. the novelty wore off. but it proved the demand was real. for the last 9 months, i’ve been building @officialvlogit around that same shift. on vlogit, you create private friend groups, and every day someone in each group gets picked to vlog their day. not for strangers. not for clout. for your friends. a real glimpse into each other’s lives. i’ve been building it in public for 9 months, and that has grown to 250k+ followers and 62k people on the waitlist. i currently have 1600 beta testers, and I am iterating on their feedback every day. we’re launching by the end of may, and there’s still a lot of uncertainty. but the thesis is simple: the next era of social won’t be about more feeds. it’ll be about bringing your friends back online.

Bill pay is LIVE on Slash. Finance teams don’t have the time to manually enter invoice data. With Bill Pay on Slash, invoices can be forwarded from your inbox and automatically broken down by: > Vendor info > Preferred payment method > Line item & total amount > Due date From there, your team can approve, schedule, and send payments directly inside Slash with custom permissions and approval controls built in.* The entire bill lifecycle now in one place.

@PlusEVPenguin @Amonahan Full transparency: I have no clue if it'll work. It could crash and fail, and I end up resorting to one, but it's worth the experiment.

Working on 10 different venture/startup content formats simultaneously and shipping all of them is probs the wildest thing I've ever done. Never will be boxed in doing only one thing. Shortform, Longform, Podcasting, Written, I want to create across the board.

I've been making content for five to six years, so I have a bit better understanding of how to juggle multiple things. I do agree that, for most people, focusing on one probably makes the most sense because you can put all of your time, energy, and attention into it. I enjoy the challenge of doing multiple things.

@brycent interesting @Amonahan says its better to focus on one thing because most likely the rest will fail and you will get bogged down, what makes you want to juggle so many things at once?
