@ligerzerosyren Kinda similar here. On campus rent in 2011 was 1k, 500 my half, in unit laundry and a driveway to park. Total bills with utilities, student health insurance, and groceries was like 1200. Went out every weekend with a 25 hour/week $10/hr part time job.

I turned 18 in 2011. Rent was $425. After work I’d go to the mall with friends and get a whole new outfit for $40. We’d go out that night, drinks were $3 and whole meals were like $7. Wake up next morning & get brunch WITH DRINKS for less than $15. Life is hell now.
