@Frank_Kalikakis@OriginalBadman_ Nintendo went with Ricoh to save on prod cost lol. Bad move. They could have used a moto 68k chip. The 68k was able to calculate & move sprites fast in real time. Ricoh had to save the instructions in memory then play it out causing slowdown in shoot m ups with lots of sprites.
@OriginalBadman_ You need to learn some facts - saves you from looking like an idiot.
The Genesis' speed was head and shoulders above the SNES. It used a Motorola 68000 at 7.67 MHz, which was x2 faster and better for fast-action games, whereas the SNES used an outdated Ricoh 5A22 at 3.58 MHz.
Many 'analysts' say the 32X was a bad idea.
I say it was a great idea.
Riding on the Genesis/MegaDrive success, owners were still in love with their consoles and truly hyped that it was going to get upgraded and remain relevant getting into the 32-bit era.

@ComuDoMega Bought the Gen on release day with my own hard earned money as a teen. Loved Altered beast and happy it was a pack in game but Revenge of Shinobi was the first cart to bless my system. Blown away. Finally a true arcade experience at home.
IGS’s The Gladiator is the PGM’s crown jewel of beat ‘em ups. It plays like a high-speed wuxia film, feat big sprites, insane juggle combos, and a branching path. It’s a masterpiece of 2D sprite work and pure kinetic energy

@SuperSisi That slow down and flickering oh my. Lol. I read Nintendo went with the slower Ricoh processor to cut production cost. They could have went with the Motorola 68k CPU’s like Sega and SNK. SHMUPS on Gen had no issues with the extra processing power.
Did you know the NES is the longest supported console in history?
Released in July 1983 as the Famicom, it was produced until September 2003 with repair services provided until October 31, 2007

@FromFriends__@btpgraphx@Affinity@canva Context menu (right click on canvas) is black too, the rendering is not working perfectly, not sure if just leaving it like that open will force the rendering or not, not gonna bother for now tbh since the menus are working.

I’m joining Sega starting today!
Super excited — Shenmue and Jet Set Radio sparked my passion for Japan when I was a kid and ultimately shaped my path, so it really feels like things have come full circle.
Alright, time to get to work!
@SuperSisi Boo. A missed opportunity. SEGA has a catalog of super scalers and other games never released and would make a ton of cash creating new pixel based games that are just pure pick up and play fun.
