Twitter was a hellscape before, but it was tolerable. This current X iteration is brutal. @elonmusk is not a moron, but at least for me he is systematically killing twitter and that makes so little sense. I wonder: What will replace it now that Twitter is effectively dead?

@MissIsabelleFox As a dad close to his daughters, I can tell you that your mutual trust in your dad likely means the world to him. It's an ongoing reward. Nobody will love you like a dog, but a dad can be a close second. :)

When I started working in a brothel at 18, the only person I spoke to about it was my dad. He didn’t judge me, disown me or tell me to quit. He told me to treat it like a business. Whenever I came to him upset about a difficult client, he would tell me to reframe it. He’d say, “That’s not a bad client. That’s an objection.” He taught me to use business language. Sales language in particular. He told me that if I wanted to earn well, I needed to learn how to handle objections the right way. And he even gave me lines to use back to my difficult clients. When men would try to haggle or ask for discounts, he told me to say, “The only time I discount my rate is when I discount the quality of my service, which I would never do to you.” And it worked! He handed me my first sales book, The Art of Closing the Sale by Brian Tracy, and told me to study. These lessons changed the trajectory of my career, and I’m so thankful for my dad for supporting me through them. It wasn’t just selling the bedroom fun, it was business. A business just like any other.. With extra close body contact with your clients. And that mindset is what took me from $155 an hour to $2,000 an hour.

People with UBI will indeed still work with their basic needs met, but what a weird example about tomatoes. I like to compare it to consumer demand still existing for goods made domestically or locally despite cheaper foreign goods. Demand will always exist for human labor. It may just cost more is all than automated goods.

@VraserX Agree, and loneliness as 'disconnectedness' by virtue of differential, interest and expertise is something much improved by current LLM based systems. Re: Would you judge someone for using them? In 2026, we're using them. Judging does not make much sense.

I think people will accept companion robots much faster than they admit. Loneliness usually wins arguments that pride thinks it can handle. Would you judge someone for using one?

I've made this argument repeatedly, but I felt the need to try and make it definitively this time. Yes, universal basic income should be universal by even including billionaires like Elon. Here are all the reasons why universality is superior to means testing.

The biggest AI misconception is thinking it will replace workers one by one. It’s going to replace entire workflows at once. That’s why most people are still underestimating what’s coming.
