An attack like this is not just against one individual, but against the shared values of safety, inclusion, and respect. I want to thank the Toronto Police Service for their work in investigating this incident, and I urge anyone with information to come forward. To the victim, and to everyone in the 2SLGBTQI+ community: you are not alone. I'm boarding a flight between two Western Canadian cities with French-speaking populations of less than 4% each. And, by law, the entire procedure has to be bilingual.
